Col’Cacchio launches new First Base pizza ‘fast casual’ outlet!

imageQuality pizza chain Col’Cacchio is to open First Base, a new concept in pizza outlets, the first one opening at Paddocks Shopping Centre in Milnerton, described as ‘fast casual’. It promises ‘handcrafted pizza & salad’.

Catering for pizza lovers who love to add or subtract toppings from their pizzas, one can now order toppings at First Base, from a list of close to 40 toppings, and watch the pizza being made while one waits. Similarly one can order salads with one’s choice of ingredients. First Base offers five signature standard pizzas and three signature salads, as well as soft serve with a range of toppings to choose from.

One pays when one orders, one waits for the pizza to be prepared and takes it to one’s table, and one leaves when done. This sounds like a win-win for patrons, who no longer have to wait for the menu to be brought to the table, who can describe to the pizza and salad makers exactly what they want on their pizzas and in their salads without any lost-in-translation moments, can get their pizza as piping hot as possible, do not have to wait for the bill, and do not have to wait for the credit card machine! What it means is that staff requirements are reduced dramatically, as waiters are no longer needed!

Col’Cacchio Holdings MD Michael Terespolsky said about the new First Bass pizza outlets: ‘Customers are becoming more aware about what they are eating and fast causal restaurants provide quality, healthier options at a fair price. You can order exactly what you want rather than what the restaurant dictates and with the authenticity of our food, plus speedy service and sexy stores, First Base will be a success’!
