Wednesday 29 July 2020, Day 59 of Level 3, after 66 days of Levels 5 and 4. 😷
Corona Gratitude 🙏
#Grateful for a warmer 18 C day today, lifting my spirits compared to yesterday, and having far more energy as a result; for two Discovery Gameboard plays and gaining over 300 Miles, buying me a voucher and with Miles left over; for a lovely Discovery Health Vitality Check over the phone with Diago, gaining me 2500 points; for being surprised about how much I know about Discovery Vitality, attending their webinar this evening; for a peaceful day; for a walk to Clifton, boosting my heart rate and giving me good Discovery points; for another walk, through Bakoven; for dancing to Kfm; for speaking to my Alex ❤️, wishing we were nearer today; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙
My long Blogpost today was a double review of Quentin at Oakhurst Barn, of a Lockdown dinner as well as Sunday Carvery Lunch, about 2000 words long. Both excellent experiences. 💙💙
I have a love-hate relationship with Discovery. It couldn’t have been easier to earn 2500 points for the Vitality Health Check, with such a nice chat, checking up on my health and state of mind 😊.
The downside was making an error with my DisChem Rewards voucher and not adding it to my éWallet. I called Discovery numerous times, but the line kept getting cut off before I could speak to someone. I then tried to do my Vitality Age, but couldn’t complete it, and the Mental Health evaluation isn’t working at all. Talking to the Discovery Bot is a complete waste of time 🥵🥵🥵
I learnt in the Webinar that Discovery has 10 million members in 19 countries. Members tend to think that they are healthier than they actually are. The healthier one is, the longer one will live. The Vitality Rewards help one recognise NOW how one can improve one’s health instead of facing it in the future.
One good thing came out of the Discovery Webinar – I had wanted to drive to Access Park to buy a new pair of walking shoes, my Reebok’s I bought in Havana close to coming apart after daily wear for the past year. If I shop for a replacement pair at Sportsman’s Warehouse in Sea Point, I’m likely to get 50% off via Discovery Gear, saving me the driving and petrol cost. 😊 I’ve booked a Health Check at DisChem, for even more Discovery points.
Camps Bay seems eerily quiet 😱
Lovely light unexpected rain. ☔️
SA Corona Status 471123 cases 7497 deaths 😷😢
FitBit 12000 steps 8,5 km 👣
The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, and lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
