Thursday 21 May 2020, Day 21 of Level 4, after 35 days of Level 5. 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for another beautiful day, it being dry during Exercise Time and warm enough to walk sleeveless, with far fewer exercisers than yesterday; for focusing on my Cardio today, putting myself first, and picking up litter on my walk back home, getting as far as Clifton First Beach; for chatting to Ashleigh Fleming and her Dirk on the way back; for a morning focused on updating the Restaurant Food Delivery Facebook Group list, and for so many members inviting their Friends to the Group that we exceeded 3800 today; for the generosity once again from Jared Stein of Camps Bay Hardware in gifting me a piece of board to catproof my terrace for Minsky, Jared even dropping it off at my door; for a little drizzle this afternoon ☔️; for being featured twice in the May newsletter of the Canadian Tour Operator for whom I do the German Walking Tours of our City; and for being happy and healthy 🙏💙

I needed to give myself a Cardio challenge this morning, after last night’s Greek dinner, and lesser distance covered this week, so I decided to be blind to any litter along the way, and go hell for leather all the way to Clifton First Beach. From there onwards I picked up litter, one bad spot there, and a very bad one at Glen Beach, where I had to pick up a whole garbage bag of domestic refuse and get it into a green bin. Some people passing saw it and thanked me. It feels good doing this. And so I achieved the same result this morning, 9000 steps and good Cardio heart exertion, and the litter all picked up, by 9h00 already. I had to laugh when I saw the first opportunistic vendor back in Camps Bay, heavy-selling masks and Sanitiser. I doubt that anyone would have bought it from him. 😱

TakeaLot delivered a new FitBit Charge 3 charger, mine having connected with a candle during Level 5. I am so grateful that it survived the incident and still works. I’m hoping that my Tracker will charge better now, I having had to charge it daily and sometimes twice a day. 😱 The company offers exceptional service, the delivery person arriving just after 9h00.

I didn’t hear from the DARG lady today, who seems to be incredibly busy. She has to coordinate her diary with that of the current Foster father. I’m so grateful for KitKat’s visits at the beginning and end of the day, wandering during the day. 🐱❤️

I was happy to see that it is International Tea Day today. To think that I was addicted to dry cappuccinos.

Off to bed now, already having completed my dancing to Kfm. 💃💃💃 Drinking the last glass of leftover wine from last night, feeling really happy and good.

Our Councillor Nicola Jowell supplied some Corona infection numbers for the Atlantic Seaboard, by suburb. The numbers look very reassuring. Camps Bay is looking good at 13 infections to date.

‘WARD 54 COVID-19 NUMBERS:
After a period of no stats being released to us by the Dept of Health we now have some stats being provided. The previous stats were for the Ward and the Stats now are for each suburb. We are told the this is the total number of cases. As a result our total number is 62 and it is broken down into:
Sea Point – 21
Camps Bay – 13
Bantry Bay – 3
Clifton – 3
Fresnaye – 22

FROM DAVE BRYANT (Ward 115): Green Point – 25
Three Anchor Bay – 4
Mouille Point – 1
Waterfront – 6
de Waterkant – 2’

My energetic Walk to Clifton and back this morning was rewarded with 300 Discovery Vitality points. In addition, I received 560 points for my Healthy Food buying.

SA Corona Status 19137 cases 369 deaths 😷😢

FitBit 17000 steps 12 km 👣

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier this week to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, and lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
