Corona Virus: Lockdown Journey Journal, Day 28 of Level 4, 28 May 2020.

Thursday 28 May 2020, Day 28 of Level 4, after 35 days at Level 5. 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for the copious amount of rain we’ve had today, it still raining, and forecast to do so until tomorrow morning; for getting myself out of bed on a grey cold day, the rain holding back, until Exercise Time was done, making it very pleasant to walk, with very few exercisers; with not a single bag of garbage lying on a Victoria Road pavement in Camps Bay and Glen Beach, yesterday’s torn bags collected by the Council, and there being minimal litter 👏👏👏; for writing all day; for keeping warm by dancing 💃 and drinking tea in between the writing; for a reasonable presentation by Madame Zol Zuma, with no surprises, but then the ability of restaurants to sell sealed bottles of alcohol from Monday onwards came out of the blue, allowed even by home-delivery; for a generous Olympus Mixed Grill delivered by Zeus Greek Yeros Bar in town, with a large helping of meat, offered by one of the members of the Facebook Food Delivery Group, I running a competition for them today; for the Facebook Group Restaurant list growing to 537, with 4300 plus members; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙

My FitBit was all over the show today, measuring my steps accurately but not my heart rate at all, making me technically deceased but with my feet moving…. 😂. I still received 100 Vitality points today.  The rain started at about 10h00, and hasn’t stopped.

Craig is one of the nicest Camps Bay locals I have met on our enforced Exercise Time, and I got quite nostalgic about the possibly of not seeing so many of the nice locals I have got to know, if we start walking at different exercise times compared to the current enforced ones, from Monday. We were told that we can exercise from 6h00 – 18h00 from Monday onwards, when we move to Level 3. 👏👏👏👏

The Facebook Food Delivery Group kept me busy this morning, and 14h00 arrived, for the Speech by the Lady ‘President’. Other than calling us ‘Comrades’, she got on with reading her speech, and there were no surprises relative to what the President had already told us on Sunday evening. I switched away when she repeated everything in Zulu, and then I couldn’t find the Live broadcast by the other Ministers. Alcohol sales out of restaurants from Monday onwards is a hugely exciting and unexpected concession. 👏👏👏

Corona Lockdown Level 3 regulations presented by Government, without any surprises, aimed to ‘secure the future of this beautiful country’!

I had a lovely long chat with Stuart Bailey, so lovely to see what a great business benefit Lockdown is having for him. It made me realize what a great experience it has been for me too, with still more to come, I’m sure. ❤️

My Hong Kong neighbour appears to have started his journey to get back home, having to be driven to Johannesburg, to fly from there. Technically the Argentinians should be able to fly out from next week onwards too.

SA Corona Status: 25937 cases 552 deaths 😷😥

FitBit: 15500 steps 11 km 👣

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier this week to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, and lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
