Saturday 6 March 2021, Day 6 of Level 1, Day 346 of Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a relaxed day, warmer than forecast, and quite humid; for a walk to Clifton and back, the first this week, gaining 200 Discovery steps; for a family afternoon sleep, Minsky and Earl Grey joining in; for a quick clean up at the Tidal Pool late this afternoon, lucky to have learners Marc from Bakoven, and Mia and her brother Kai with their mom Hayley in Camps Bay helping too 👏👏👏; for a fun evening photographing Mediterranean dishes at Anatoli, getting to taste the dishes too; and for being happy and healthy . 🙏💙

The disappointment of the day was that new cleaner Jo did not arrive at work and did not respond to my calls and messages! I contacted Alison, who had recommended him, only to learn that she had been contacted by others, telling her that he is a con artist. So guess I was lucky to not fall into a trap. I was therefore very grateful to have the learners doing Community projects coming to help me this afternoon, with masses of picnickers and therefore litter, despite the weather not looking promising at all this morning. 😱💙

Anatoli Chef Jacques du Toit is passionate about Mediterranean flavours and spices, so I learnt a lot tonight when he prepared some of the dishes on their menus. I’ll post more Anatoli food pics tomorrow.

I’m looking forward to the rain tomorrow morning ☔️

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December,  extended to 15 February on 11 January, extended but relaxed on 1 February, and relaxed back to Level 1 on 1 March 2021, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
