The Sweet Service Award goes to Huguenot Fine Chocolates, who rushed an order for Whale Cottage turn-down chocolates, providing a same-day service. Denver even delivered the chocolates to Whale Cottage Franschhoek.
The Sour Service Award goes to Vida e Caffé on Regent Road in Sea Point. On Boxing Day the outlet only had three staff members on duty, no tables were cleared outside, the airconditioner leaked on the spot where one had to place the order, the jug of free ice and lemon water was empty, and the taking of orders was so slow that clients had to queue. No management was visible, as there never is at this outlet.
The WhaleTales Sweet & Sour Service Awards are presented every Friday on the WhaleTales blog. Nominations for the Sweet and Sour Service Awards can be sent to Chris von Ulmenstein at email@example.com. Past winners of the Sweet and Sour Service Awards can be read on the Friday posts of this blog, and in the WhaleTales newsletters on the www.whalecottage.com website.
