MCQP hosts first ever Christmas in July Party, theme and venue for MCQP Party 2017 to be announced there!

For the first time in the history of the MCQP, a Christmas in July Party will be held, this Friday 28 July. At the Party the theme and the venue for the MCQP Party on 16 December will be announced.

The Christmas in July Party will be held at the German Club, off Hope Street in Gardens, and starts at 20h00, running until 2h00. Tickets cost R 150. Two dance floors will be set up. Guests attending are requested to bring a gift for a child, to be donated to the Red Cross Children’s Hospital.

In the past the theme and venue for the MCQP Costume Party, which is always held on the 16 December public holiday, were announced in October. This year the announcement for the MCQP Costume Party will be made at the first ever Christmas in July Party. International DJ and event organizer Candice Heyns will be involved in the organization and music for the MCQP Christmas in July Party on Friday,

‘We always listen to our MCQP fans. Many have expressed that they need more time to prepare their outfits, and especially as more and more out-of-towners are attending the event every year, they also need to properly plan their travel arrangements‘, explained Ian McMahon, Director of MCQP. He added: ‘Whenever we host an event, we also want to give back to the community. So although Father Christmas will be walking around handing out random gifts to those attending, we also encourage attendees to bring a gift for a child that will be donated to the Red Cross Children’s Hospital’.

DJ Candice is the Executive Project Manager of MCQP, and said about the event on Friday: ‘For anyone ‘dreaming of a white Christmas’, they won’t be disappointed. We’ve got snow machines showering the entrance and one of the dance floors with snowflakes, and the venue spectacularly decorated with over a 100 Christmas trees – even some hanging from the ceiling. So if you’ve never seen snow, you have to be there.  But of course, we didn’t forget our very own heritage in how we celebrate Christmas in SA, so the second dance floor will be a summer Christmas experience with all things green. Believe me, you’ll be blown away, and this event will only be a hint of what is coming in December for our main MCQP party.’

One dance floor will be dedicated to commercial, high energy, and progressive music, while the second dance floor will pump with deep house, techno, and disco. Funktion and Red Bull Sound systems will be used in the two dance venues.  Entertainment for the MCQP Christmas in July Party will include comedians, live acts, dancers, and top name local and international DJ’s, including international DJ Groove from Thailand, as well as DJs Douglas Olsen vs. Miss CJ, Tommy Gun, DYI and Beanovs Dave Irish. The Trolley Dollies will also take off!
