The Sweet Service Award goes to Nederburg, for hosting a season of wonderful monthly Sunday evening concerts, crowned by the Grand Finale last Sunday. A concert with the vivacious soprano Zanne Stapelberg and her colleague Minette du Toit-Pearce was followed by a three course meal in the red wine cellar, creating a most romantic atmosphere, and was a lovely way in which music lovers could get to meet and chat to each other.
The Sour Service Award goes to the V&A Waterfront, for allowing smokers, mainly being staff of the shops, to smoke in the enclosed parking garage on both the Woolworths and the Pick ‘n Pay sides of the shopping centre. The security guards seem very loath to take action, as it appears to be a regular practice.
The WhaleTales Sweet & Sour Service Awards are presented every Friday on the WhaleTales blog. Nominations for the Sweet and Sour Service Awards can be sent to Chris von Ulmenstein at email@example.com. Past winners of the Sweet and Sour Service Awards can be read on the Friday posts of this blog, and in the WhaleTales newsletters on the www.whalecottage.com website.
