The Sweet Service Award goes to  the City of Cape Town, and its Trainee Cashier Jarred Knipe, for the speedy service in renewing the licence for my car at the Civic Centre. I came armed with a copy of my ID and once again the proof of my residence, which I had organised especially elsewhere prior to my visit to the Motor Vehicle Registration Officer. One is allocated a number on arrival, after enquiring  why one is visiting. My number was about eleven numbers after the counters servicing clients. Many clients did not respond to the numbers. Before my number came up, a roving admin staff member asked me what I had come for and directed me to the Cash Office immediately. Jarred is a relatively new staff member, still on training! He completed the paperwork and payment within five minutes, it having taken me a total of ten minutes to renew the registration of the car, something that has taken an hour at least in the past! I had to pinch myself that I was not dreaming. And to add to the service delight, Service Manager Hennie Kriel, replaced the licence disc for me when I popped in at Audi Cape Town for assistance with something completely unrelated!  (more…)

The Sweet Service Award goes to Audi Cape Town, and its Service Ambassador Walied. I couldn’t unlock my car boot, having locked my handbag inside it, and drove to Audi Cape Town on a Saturday morning for help, not expecting any Service staff member to be on duty! But Walied was on duty, and did some wriggling with my boot, managing to open it, to find that the handbag strap had got caught in the locking mechanism of the boot! He fixed this with a smile and charm, proud to have been of service! Audi Cape Town continues to astound me.  (more…)

The Sweet Service Award goes to Audi Cape Town, and its Service Advisor Hennie Kriel, for his friendliness and efficiency in helping me to get my car key to flick open, a little screw having been responsible for the problem. On his desk is a sign that they offer 11/10 service excellence, and it encourages customers to demand it, and express it if they are not satisfied. Hennie has impressed me with his superb service since meeting him at the dealership early this year.  (more…)

The Sweet Service Award goes to Rocksole Shoe and Bag Repair in Bo-Kaap, and its owner Raj Jaga, who twice within a month has assisted me. First he managed to replace a bag handle in a shorter time than he allows for normally. Then he added an extra hole on the strap of a new handbag while I was in the shop, and he did not charge me for it, saying that I am a loyal customer. (more…)
