My journey of transformation, in losing 45kg in weight over a period of a year in 2017, as well as spiritually in walking the Camino last year, with related changes, has been sensationally documented by Huisgenoot writer Pieter Van Zyl. He wrote the story on the basis of my SwitchBitch Book 1, in which I documented my physical transformation, as well as a telephone interview. I met Van Zyl at the Franschhoek Literary Festival, of which he was an author panelist, last week. Continue reading →
Whilst I wrote SwitchBitch 2 in Apricale in Italy last year, I saw JAN the JOURNAL Volume 1 lying in the Apricus Locanda B & B in Italy. I was intrigued by its look and feel, and content, knowing Chef Jan-Hendrik van der Westhuizen, Chef and co-owner of the one star Michelin restaurant JAN in Nice to be highly creative and meticulous in everything that he does. Earlier this year I published SwitchBitch Book 1, ‘My journey of transformation from Sour to Sweet’, documenting my physical transformation in losing 45 kg in changing my eating habits, and in expressing my love for dancing.
SwitchBitch Book 2 ‘My Journey of Transformation in walking the Camino, Sole to Soul’ follows in its footsteps, pardon the pun, having walked the Camino in Spain, and documents my journey on this three-week journey. The book also shares further transformational changes since SwitchBitch Book 1 was published in January this year.
Launching my second book this year, celebrating it today with my very special friends, some even flying in from Paris and London, is my best 18th birthday present. Continue reading →
Last night I hosted another ‘SwitchBitch: My journey of transformation from Sour to Sweet!’ Book Launch celebration, at La Parada Constantia Nek. A light drizzle blessed the event, and we called it a Book-wetting, in celebration of our much-needed rain in Cape Town! Continue reading →
In celebration of dancing for the past 18 months, I am launching my first book ‘SwitchBitch: My Journey of Transformation from Sour to Sweet!’ next Sunday 25 March at Cape Town’s best loved dance party at La Parada Constantia Nek, with music created by DJ René and his team. Continue reading →
The Sweet Service Award goes to the Jade Pearl Boutique in Stellenbosch, and its staff member Caitlin van Heerden, for reading about the assault by Graham Goble at Artscape, resulting in one of my strings of pearls breaking. She invited me to have the pearls restrung. As I was heading to Franschhoek two days later, I dropped them off in the morning, and collected them later that day, ready to wear again.
On Friday I took delivery of the printed copies of my first book ‘SwitchBitch: My Journey of Transformation from Sour to Sweet!’, a reprint and edited version of the book I launched in December. Last week ‘SwitchBitch’ was listed on Amazon as an eBook, with encouraging first sales. Continue reading →
I spent four days in the village of McGregor last week, last having been there four months ago. I spent such a relaxing and special time there, that I wish to acknowledge with gratitude the contribution which each of the following made to me during my stay:
A year ago I posted here on my Blog that 2016 was the best year of my life. Looking back on 2017, I can echo this sentiment about 2017, surpassing what was already a fantastic 2016! The year was crowned by the publishing of my first book, and I plan to write two this year. I discovered my Self-Love, and now can truly stand on my own two feet! Continue reading →
Whilst writing The Book in Apricale, in Italy, in August, I treated myself to a cappuccino or a gelato at the Apricus Osteria & Bar in the village almost daily. On one of those days I asked a lady sitting at another table if she would mind taking a photograph of me, my selfie skills not being the best. Anna Fill did a great job of it, and gave me her card. I thanked her, and so began a chat about why I was in Apricale in the first place. Anna and I met for coffee, on a Monday when most restaurants were closed, so she drove us to the nearby Bajardo, where we chatted and I got to know more about Anna, and her ‘The Riviera Woman’ digital magazine. Recently she wrote to me, when she had seen on Facebook that I had completed my Book ‘SwitchBitch: My journey of transformation from Sour to Sweet’, and asked me a number of questions, for an article for her magazine.
