SA largest circulation publication Huisgenoot sensationally shares my transformation and romance journey!

My journey of transformation, in losing 45kg in weight over a period of a year in 2017, as well as spiritually in walking the Camino last year, with related changes, has been sensationally documented by Huisgenoot writer Pieter Van Zyl.  He wrote the story on the basis of my SwitchBitch Book 1, in which I documented my physical transformation, as well as a telephone interview. I met Van Zyl at the Franschhoek Literary Festival, of which he was an author panelist, last week. Continue reading →

Sweet Service Award goes to Goodluck; Sour Service Award goes to Cape PVC Windows!

The Sweet Service Award goes to Goodluck, a South African electro music band, which played at La Parada Constantia Nek last Sunday, to thousands of fans. As I dance to DJ René Tanguy at the venue every Sunday, this was a surprise change, and an initial disappointment, in that I did not know the band. The singer Jules was infectious, and the producer Ben played others’ tracks too, making it a very danceable hour. I won a CD give-away, such amazing good luck… I spoke to both Ben and Jules afterwards, very lovely natural and unaffected musicians. A thanks goes to La Parada too, for organising this event, at no charge to patrons. Continue reading →

Eat Out Restaurant Awards 2017: shock results, dominated by Chef Luke Dale-Roberts Restaurants!

At the Eat Out Restaurant Awards 2017 this evening, held at GrandWest, some shock results stunned the restaurant industry. Eat Out continues its love affair with Chef Luke Dale-Roberts, with three of his four restaurants making the Top 10 Restaurant List, a spectacular achievement! The biggest shock was the spectacular slide of La Colombe, the restaurant which had all the opportunity to make the number one slot, but only making the seventh rank, a karmic reaction to the restaurant losing focus, opening too many restaurants, and getting involved in restaurant politics! Silvermist only organic wine producer in Constantia, dedicated to Rocket dog!

A week ago I was invited by Silvermist Tasting Room assistant Declan to visit the wine estate next door to La Parada Constantia Nek, being in Constantia every Sunday when I dance to DJ René’s music. On Sunday I took up the invitation, and was lucky to find both winemaker Greg Louw and Declan on the estate, to do the tasting before closing time.  Continue reading →

Cape Town residents Sweet Service Award; Multichoice Sour Service Award!

The Sweet Service Award goes to the people of Cape Town, who came to the party in donating clothing, food, beverages, and bedding for the residents of Imizamo Yethu, who were left destitute after a devastating fire this past weekend. Donations were dropped off at the fire stations in Sea Point and Hout Bay, at Pick ‘n Pay outlets, at La Parada Constantia Nek, and at schools in Hout Bay.
