The Sweet Service Award goes to Woolworths, for opening a long-awaited branch of its FOOD store in Camps Bay yesterday. The retailer handed out rusks at the traffic light, to attract attention to the store opening, and offered early bird shoppers R50 discount vouchers. The Manager of the store Lee Worship and the Foods Manager Gary Arendse were friendly in welcoming us to their new store. We as Camps Bat residents are delighted to have the store in walking distance. Continue reading →
In the 2018 Brandz study by Kantar Millward Brown it has created a list of ten most trusted South African brands, a list which includes mainly food products, the 75 year old KOO one of these and right at the top on Trust, and the very new online shopping brand Takealot.com, already ranked third. The Sweet Service Award goes to Albourne Boutique House in Somerset West, and its Manager Glen, for his excellent service when I stayed over there recently. He was on duty until 23h00, allowed me to take a drink from their Bar, listened to my feedback about the disappointing meal at Giovanni’s in the Waterstone Centre, and was on duty at breakfast the next morning again. The winter rate is excellent value for money.
The Sweet Service Award goes to Standard Bank Gardens Centre and its Enquiries assistant Samantha. After spending 90 minutes subjected to ABSA’s incompetence in trying to close my account and credit card, having moved to Standard Bank, Samantha quickly and efficiently helped me load the credit card payment beneficiary and guided my payment of the outstanding ABSA card balance at the ATM outside the branch, taking no more than 5 minutes.
The Sweet Service Award goes to Standard Bank Sea Point and its Manager Colleen Sampson, for assisting me in receiving my interest payment on a fixed deposit, due on the first of the month, which took until 4 January to be paid with the help of her intervention. She was feisty in dealing with her colleagues in the bank’s IT Department, demanding immediate rectification of the computer glitch which had caused the problem.
For a number of years I have attended the Chenin Blanc Top 10 Challenge, sponsored by Standard Bank, but had to decline the awards earlier this week, held at Delaire Graff, due to travel. I received the media release, announcing the Top 10 Chenin Blanc wines. Continue reading →
The Sweet Service Award goes to Standard Bank Sea Point, and its Consultant Tamryn Paulsen, for her amazing service in opening new accounts for me when transferring my banking business from ABSA to Standard Bank, and for finding banking options that offered the lowest bank charges and the highest rate on an investment. She also efficiently contacted each company I have debit orders with, providing the new bank details. It is a huge shame that she is leaving the bank today, to go back to study. Continue reading →
