Corona Virus: Lockdown Journey Journal, Day 29 of Level 3, 29 June 2020.

Monday 29 June 2020, Day 29 of Level 3, after 66 days of Levels 5 and 4 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a day of grey and drizzle, not stepping outside at all in the short little break in the rain, soft and gentle rain, with good news of how the dam levels are rising after all the fabulous rain; for a hardworking writing morning; for getting all the Body Corporate AGM documents printed (what a waste of paper); for half of my step goal done as Garagerobics, the rest dancing to Couchrobics on Kfm; for cat cuddles throughout the day, Minsky just having a short little outside break; for starting to update the Food Delivery and Collection list with Restaurants opening from today, many of these also still doing Delivery and Collection; and for being happy and healthy! 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Corona Virus: Lockdown Journey Journal, Day 28 of Level 3, 28 June 2020.

Sunday 28 June 2020, 28th Day of Level 3, after 66 days of Levels 5 and 4 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for all the rain overnight and this morning, the day clearing to a mostly sunny afternoon, perfect for going for a walk as far as Clifton 4th Beach, as well as a late afternoon one through Bakoven, bumping into Haakon and Thomas Bauerkämper, the most often seen exercisers since Lockdown began over 3 months ago, I wearing a short-sleeved top, it was so nice and warm; for being a busy 🐝 this morning, having a deadline by which the Body Corporate AGM queries had to be sent to Sandak-Lewin 48 hours in advance, despite their Portfolio Manager still not having answered all my AGM questions sent to him a week ago, earning him a big fat Sour Service Award 😡; for a long cat cuddle in bed this morning 🐱; for a long chat with my MasterChick Jenny Stephens; for dancing to my playlist and to Kfm; for my stress level dropping, measured by my Resting Heart Rate; for receiving a call from the lovely Law Enforcement Officer Ivor Ramsay, who is back to look after Camps Bay, even if just for a few more days; for another concert by Daniel Hope with his Hope @ Home on Tour, performed at the Monopol, formerly a Distillery in Berlin; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Saturday 27 June 2020, Day 27 of Level 3, after 66 days of Levels 5 and 4 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for the copious amounts of rain which have fallen overnight and during the day, with a cloudburst at one stage; for the treat of having my hair cut and coloured by Isabella Page Morgan, my hair stylist for the past four years, part of my Transformation, at The Hair Company in Sea Point; for shopping under one roof in the Garden Centre, at Hartlief, Cassis, and Woolworths,  ;  for a quick Pop-In at Peppertree Café; for a most wonderful winter day snooze this afternoon; for listening to another episode of Hope@Home from The Monopol of the People in Berlin, with Georgian pianist Dudana Mazmanishvili ; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Sunday 21 June 2020, Day 21 of Level 3, after 66 days of Levels 5 and 4 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a rainy wintry day ☔️, not too cold at 17C, enjoying working in my bed all morning, facing my annual headache of and preparing for the apartment Body Corporate AGM taking place in a week; for a peaceful day; for a rain break early this afternoon, allowing me a Camps Bay walk and buying cat food for Minsky and having a good chat with Bukeka at Absolute Pets; for another walk to Bakoven this afternoon; for Minsky not being adventurous when she was allowed outside 🙏; for lovely chats with Michele Antelme and Jenny Stephens; for enjoying my self-cooked supper; for another fabulous concert by Hope@Home on Tour with singer Tim Bendzko, oh wow, performed in the Muschelgrotte in Potsdam in my Heimatland; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

.

11 June 2020, Day 11 of Level 3, after 66 days of Lockdown Levels 5 and 4. 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for hordes of rain overnight and today, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, but not as dramatic as it sounded, expected for the whole morning, but it was short-lived; for the comfort of my bed, in which I wrote this morning, with Minsky lying next to me to keep warm; for the size of our garage here, allowing me to do a good number of steps before the sun came out for a while, so that I could do a walk to the Beachfront and back, not getting as wet on my walk as I did yesterday; for the brandy I have in my home to add to my tea to warm myself up inside; for having my own home-made soup in the fridge, sharing some with Henry at lunchtime; for feeling happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Corona Virus: Lockdown Journey Journal, Day 10 of Level 3, 10 June 2020.

Wednesday 10 June 2020, Day 10 of Level 3, after 66 days of Levels 5 and 4. 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for all the wonderful rain that has been falling since midnight, with more to come, it not yet being very cold, but that is likely to come tomorrow; for a two-hour window of sunshine over lunchtime, which gave me a sunny walk in my shorts and short sleeve top; for a quick visit to Pick n Pay on my way home; for being so up to date with my work that I could allow myself a cosy afternoon watching my favorite ZDF Traumschiff series, the episode being about the UAE; for exceeding 600 Restaurants in the Food and Alcohol Delivery & Collection Facebook Group, with more than 4600 members; for a Bakoven walk with a short sunshine gap but then splashed with rain… ☔️; for dancing the rest of my steps to Kfm; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Corona Virus: Lockdown Journey Journal, Day 28 of Level 4, 28 May 2020.

Thursday 28 May 2020, Day 28 of Level 4, after 35 days at Level 5. 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for the copious amount of rain we’ve had today, it still raining, and forecast to do so until tomorrow morning; for getting myself out of bed on a grey cold day, the rain holding back, until Exercise Time was done, making it very pleasant to walk, with very few exercisers; with not a single bag of garbage lying on a Victoria Road pavement in Camps Bay and Glen Beach, yesterday’s torn bags collected by the Council, and there being minimal litter 👏👏👏; for writing all day; for keeping warm by dancing 💃 and drinking tea in between the writing; for a reasonable presentation by Madame Zol Zuma, with no surprises, but then the ability of restaurants to sell sealed bottles of alcohol from Monday onwards came out of the blue, allowed even by home-delivery; for a generous Olympus Mixed Grill delivered by Zeus Greek Yeros Bar in town, with a large helping of meat, offered by one of the members of the Facebook Food Delivery Group, I running a competition for them today; for the Facebook Group Restaurant list growing to 537, with 4300 plus members; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Corona Virus: Lockdown Journey Journal, Day 24 of Level 4, 24 May 2020.

Sunday 24 May 2020, Day 24 of Level 4, after 35 days of Level 5 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for my energy this morning, after a fabulous night’s sleep, heading out at 7h15, my earliest Exercise Time so far, being determined to get to the other end of Clifton, 11000 steps 7,5 km, and high Cardio exertion, earning me 300 Discovery Vitality points; for the number of people I meet along the way, often with a little chat; for it not being so busy as the weekend days normally are; for the fabulous service from Absolute Pets, when I went to buy a cat harness, treats, and catnip for Minsky; for finding my cat kids safe and peaceful when I arrived back home; for bonding with Minsky while KitKat went out wandering; for eventually being able to bring both cats into the apartment space, having had to separate them last night; for going shopping in Sea Point; for a lovely relaxed afternoon, both cats at peace with each other now; for enjoying the last sun before winter strikes tomorrow; and for feeling happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Cape Town water challenge and Day Zero: We will survive!

I was recently asked if I would be leaving the country on Day Zero, projected to be 16 April currently, something that had never crossed my mind! It appears that a large number of locals are making plans to leave Cape Town, and reside elsewhere in our country or internationally, where they will have access to water! Quite frankly, I wouldn’t miss Day Zero for anything, as Cape Town will be making world history in being the first city in the world to run out of water!  Continue reading →
