Eat Out announces its 2022 judging panel, makes more changes to Awards!

 

In a major change, Eat Out 2022 Head Judge Abigail Donnelly has announced her four fellow judges on the panel evaluating our country’s Top restaurants for the November 2022 Eat Out Awards.

The Eat Out Awards will be hosted for the first time in two years. No date or venue details are available to date.

Another new introduction is that the top restaurants will be rated and no longer ranked! The industry’s ‘unsung heroes’ will be recognised  too.

Eat Out announces its Awards will return in November 2022! Sadly few Top 10 restaurants still operating!

 

It was a surprise to read that Eat Out will resume its Restaurant Awards in 2022, announcing them at a dinner in November of next year, and that Abigail Donnelly will take over as Chief Judge, introducing a new judging process.

Eat Out did not award its Restaurant Awards in 2020 and in 2021.

Of the Eat Out Top 10 List of 2019 only seven restaurants are still operating. Continue reading →

Serial ‘cook or crook’ Chef Conrad Gallagher pulls a meaty payment scam and scandal!

 

It wasn’t more than a month ago that the opening of Chef Conrad Gallagher newest restaurant Bistro Vin De Boeuf in St Francis Bay attracted attention, focusing on meat and wine according to its name.

Meet Chef Michélle Theron of Hazendal: 2021 Top 10 Woman Chef!

 

Hazendal Executive Chef Michelle Theron is a busy lady, running five restaurants on the spectacular Stellenbosch wine estate, which I visited for the first time last weekend.  Unfortunately I was unable to meet Chef Michélle, as she had already left after preparing breakfast for guests renting the Hazendal Homestead. I left her prize of a bottle of Adhara Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil with her colleague, in recognition of being selected as a 2021 Top 10 Woman Chef. Continue reading →
