Thursday 17 June 2021, Day 2 of Level 3 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a fabulous day; for a long sleep, with more deep sleep than I’ve had in ages, there being no disturbance at all, the noisy guests having checked out today 🧡🧡🧡; for getting work for my client meetings done; for the most wonderful rain overnight, during most of the day, and now again; for a good Anatoli meeting; followed by one with Utopia, doing a little winetasting, a red one, perfect for the weather; for meeting and interviewing the new Utopia Head Chef Dennis Luke, his wife working at Zest; for picking up some rolls at Kleinsky’s, and the lovely chocolate cake at Bokeh Continue reading →

The Steak Club at The Lawns at the Roundhouse serves fine steaks, an elite and exclusive new pop-up Winter restaurant!

What a clever move of The Lawns, an outdoor-only daytime restaurant at The Roundhouse in Camps Bay,  to erect a massive Marquee on one level of the lawns and turn it into a Winter pop-up restaurant called Steak Club. The Lawns outside-seating restaurant will continue to serve Breakfast and Lunch outside.

Thursday 10 June 2021, Day 11 of Adjusted Level 2 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a wonderful day; for a busy writing morning, bringing the good news that our Sandak-Lewin Portfolio Manager Greg Anderson will soon be moved off our account, after I have lodged complaints about him for more than a year; for a quick walk through Bakoven; for collecting my Dinkel rolls; for finding the new Paris Cape Town Boulangerie and Pâtisserie on Main Road in Sea Point which opened yesterday; for an unusual Utopia Status meeting, winemaker Ken Forrester popping in to see my client, and for finally meeting Rene Hurwitz who I know from Facebook, celebrating her 48th wedding anniversary with lunch at Utopia, and for a spoil glass of Bottega Continue reading →

Corona Virus: Lockdown Journey Journal, Day 61 of Level 1, 30 April 2021

Friday 30 April 2021, Day 61 of Level 1 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Gratitude for a wonderful unplanned day, starting early at 5h00, and surviving the reduced sleep; for it being slightly warmer today, but still with a chilly wind this evening; for getting all my work done this morning; for getting the hacked Instagram account operating again; for a power walk with 36 minutes of Cardio from my home to The Roundhouse, half of it being uphill, earning me 300 Discovery points; for my tea/coffee date with restaurateur Ian Halfon at The Lawns turning into a 7-course 5 hour delight and indulgence at Salsify at The Roundhouse, Camps Bay’s secret best restaurant by far; for the lift back to home, receiving some wine from Ian too; for a quick walk through Bakoven, to catch the sunset; and for being happy, healthy, and free. 🙏💙 Continue reading →
