Thank you 2020 for everything that you have taught me, my Top 20 of 2020!

 

I was very excited about the year 2020, having the 20th as a birthdate, and it being my lucky number. Despite the tragedy of the Corona Virus pandemic and the inconvenience of the Lockdown regulations at times, 2020 turned out to be one of my best ever, learning from it and growing through it.

#Grateful for a busy working day, well executed against a Do List; for a lovely sunny day, the South Easter having picked up now; for a walk in Camps Bay, seeing a sign announcing the opening soon of Crème de la Crème Gourmet Desserts next door to the new Starbucks opening next month…. oi vey 😱; for a walk through Bakoven, taking some pics at Beta Beach; for my Discovery Pick n Pay voucher working in Camps Bay; for dancing to Kfm, and for being happy and healthy 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Wellington Wine Walk: Day 2 not just about Wines, but about Coffee, Gin, and Country food too!

Just over a week ago my school friend Jenny Stephens and I spent two days on the Wellington Wine Walk, a guiding service offered by our school friend Elaine Wegelin and her colleagues Katrin Steytler, and Carol-Ann Jeffrey.

Jenny, Elaine, and I grew up in Wellington, and sat on the same school benches at three Wellington schools. Having left Wellington after Matric 50 years ago, it was not just an eating and drinking adventure, but it was a catch-up of how our hometown has grown and developed in this time. Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a sunny warmer day, with a mild South Easter this afternoon; for a busy writing day; for a tea meeting at Firefly Café with Ryan Rudy, who heads up the Camps Bay Community Security Initiative; for a meeting with Chris Willemse, Chairman of the Camps Bay and Clifton Ratepayers Association, and Alma Horn, at their home, to be briefed on my Marketing role as a new member of the Management Committee; for harvesting three huge beetroot from the veg garden today; for posting my second SwitchBitch book to Marianne Busche in Johannesburg, so easy via Aramex courier at Pick n Pay; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →
