\"\"<\/a>The fifth Franschhoek\u00a0Cap Classique and Champagne Festival\u00a0started last night, and continues until tomorrow, celebrating the “The Magic of Bubbles”.\u00a0 Leading local Cap Classiques and imported champagnes will be paired with some of the best restaurants Franschhoek\u00a0has to offer.<\/p>\n

Bubbly brands that will be on show, representing some of South Africa’s 100 or so sparkling wine brands,\u00a0include Franschhoek’s first and recently-crowned Platter 5-star\u00a0Blanc de Blancs Brut\u00a0from\u00a0Topiary Wines, and\u00a0Franschhoek ‘colleagues’ Graham Beck, Colmant, Morena from Franschhoek Pass Winery, All\u00c3\u00a9e Bleue, Dieu Donn\u00c3\u00a9, Boschendal, La Motte, My Wyn, and Pierre Jourdan.\u00a0 Other bubbly brands\u00a0on show are\u00a0Simonsig,\u00a0 Steenberg, Villiera,\u00a0Krone,\u00a0Avondale, Backsberg, Bon Courage, Bramon, Laborie, L’Avenir,\u00a0Nitida, Pongracz, Genevieve MCC, Groote Post, Silverthorn, Sterhuis, Van Loveren, Waverley Hills and Weltevrede.\u00a0 Imported\u00a0champagne brands include Billecart Salmon, Laurent Perrier, Gosset,\u00a0Verve Cliquot and Tribaut.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Food can be bought from the following Franschhoek restaurants at the Festival: The Restaurant at Grande Provence, Mange Tout at Mont Rochelle Hotel, La Petite Ferme, The Restaurant at L’ermitage Hotel, Monneaux, Salmon Bar, Dieu Donn\u00c3\u00a9, All\u00c3\u00a9e Bleue and the Le Franschhoek Hotel.\u00a0\u00a0 The Wild Peacock is selling oysters.<\/p>\n

Entertainment will be provided by CODA.\u00a0 The dress code is “black and white”, with a prize for the best-dressed couple today and tomorrow.<\/p>\n
