\"\"<\/a>The Sweet Service Award<\/b> goes to the Gran Hotel Manzana Kempinski in Havana, and its PRO Ingrid, for the effortless assistance in booking a room at the five star hotel. I asked to see a room, was shown it by Ingrid, who spoke perfect English, and then advised me to book via the internet as they offer better rates there. She brought her laptop to the front desk, and made the reservation for me, with assistance from the Sales department. By the time I had returned to my BnB, the confirmation of the booking had arrived, without any demand for credit card details or upfront payment.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The Sour Service Award<\/b> goes to El Corte Ingles in Madrid, for their initial unwillingness to honour their VIP programme aimed at international shoppers to me, as I did not have a hotel referral card with me. I explained that I was only in Madrid for a few hours, and that I had supported and bought at four other of their stores in Spain and Portugal. In the end the manager gave in, and gave me the VIP benefits. The restaurant offers a drink and a Tapas, I chose a bottle of water, and the Tapas was two fish croquettes, falling apart. I was rudely told by a waiter that I could only sit at the bar counter, not at a restaurant table! <\/p>\n
