Corona Gratitude \ud83d\ude4f<\/u><\/p>\n

#Grateful for a day that didn\u2019t go as planned at all, but was filled with highlights; for our Building Manager Henry coming for the day, doing a fantastic job of cleaning up and doing gardening, so lovely to see him again after 8 weeks of him being at home \ud83d\ude4f; for a very short and sweet Exercise Time, my shortest since 1 May; for going shopping at the Oranjezicht City Farm Organic Market with Shubha Shukla; for meeting Farmer Ian at the Oranjezicht Farm and learning so much from him about the underwater springs and their \u2019architectural\u2019 style of gardening there; of reaching the milestone of 4000 members in the Facebook Restaurant Food Delivery Group; for returning to my beautiful clean apartment block, after Henry\u2019s hard work; for taking Henry back to Wynberg, giving me an opportunity to have a look at Four&Twenty Caf\u00e9, now purely a Deli during Lockdown; for Miss Minsky \ud83d\udc31 being delivered to me just as I got home, both of us excited yet very nervous \ud83d\ude31; for dancing far less than usual, having to give love to both Minsky \ud83d\udc31 and KitKat \ud83d\udc31; for going to bed early after a busy day; and for being happy and healthy. \ud83d\ude4f\ud83d\udc99<\/p>\n

Henry got off the taxi just as I got going with my walk in Camps Bay, I getting up later than usual. As I had all his keys, I had to turn around and cut my exercising short, but I still made it a speed walk. I did a Do List for Henry, and then I was off.<\/p>\n

I went to collect my walking shorts, made of linen, very worn through, patched up in three parts where the fabric had worn very thin. Too sweet is that two patches were covered with hearts, knowing my love for them. They are my most comfy shorts, with an elasticised waist, and pockets for my phone and keys. Thank you Petra Renate Quinlan, such a generous and community-orientated person living in Bakoven.<\/p>\n

ORANJEZICHT CITY ORGANIC FARM MARKET, Granger Bay, Waterfront. \ud83c\udf4e\ud83e\udd51\ud83e\udd55\ud83e\udd68\ud83e\udd5d\ud83c\udf6f<\/p>\n

Today I went food shopping at the Oranjezicht Market, which now has its entrance at the side off Beach Road in Granger Bay. There is a strict hygiene protocol, with name and phone details taken, temperature taken, and hands sanitised. Distance markers guide distance as one queues to get in. Fewer traders and far fewer shoppers, with signs requesting one to respect Social Distancing. No cash handling, only credit cards and SnapScan.<\/p>\n

There are traders for dried fruits, cake and quiches, bread, cheese, sauces, Richard Bosman charcuterie, honey, Son of a Butcher meats, biltong, Mezzes, juices, eggs, olives, jams, fresh fruit and vegetables, coffees and teas, and more. No cooked foods to eat there during Lockdown.<\/p>\n

They also deliver boxes of fresh produce on Thursdays.<\/p>\n

All very efficient and no crowding. I felt very safe there. Good background music. Staff and traders very efficient and friendly.<\/p>\n

Open during Lockdown on Saturdays until 14h00.<\/p>\n

Well done to Market CEO Sheryl Ozinsky and team. \ud83d\udc4f\ud83d\udc4f\ud83d\udc4f<\/p>\n

Shubha Shukla and I went to the actual Oranjezicht Farm, about 8 years old now, and Farmer Ian is so passionate about farming that he taught us about water usage and planting for \u2018architecture\u2019 versus produce. He called it a garden rather than a farm. He is there on Mondays – Saturdays, and happy to chat.<\/p>\n

Henry had just finished the Do List at 15h00, and off we drove to Wynberg, where I dropped him off. Funny to hear vendors offering cigarettes for sale as I drove along Main Road.<\/p>\n

FOUR & TWENTY, Wynberg \ud83e\udd51\ud83e\uddc1\ud83e\udd55\ud83c\udf4b\ud83c\udf4a\ud83c\udf45\ud83e\udd6c\ud83e\udd56\ud83c\udf70\ud83c\udf6b<\/p>\n

Four & Twenty is a Caf\u00e9 which does all-day breakfasts, which has always had a Deli \"\"section too. Now it has moved away its Caf\u00e9 tables and chairs, and only operates as a Deli. But it still makes its beautiful pastry and cake treats.<\/p>\n

It also sells fresh fruit and vegetables, Frankie Fenner Meats, breads, dairy products, coffee, their lovely \ud83d\udc99 biscuits, charcuterie, and a host of other Deli items.<\/p>\n

They are open 7 days a week, until 16h00. I was the only person there just before closing time. The staff are friendly, and all wear masks. My temperature was not taken, as per their post, but I felt totally safe there. \ud83d\ude37<\/p>\n

\"\"And then Minsky arrived, with a cat bed and blankets, cat litter, food and bowls, toys, and a scratch board, all items familiar to her. She has a micro chip. I\u2019m a little scared of the DARG lady, but I know she means well for Minsky, especially as she has had five homes in her 2 years so far. \ud83d\udc31\u2764\ufe0f<\/p>\n

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier this week to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, and lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.<\/b><\/p>\n
