Corona Gratitude \ud83d\ude4f<\/u><\/p>\n
#Grateful for the arrival of Spring, finally, what a beauty of a day at 21C \ud83c\udf1e; for a glorious day; for meeting Johnny Nortje and walking to Camps Bay, dropping off a sample pack of Dilmah Teas at Firefly Caf\u00e9, to try out and to use until they get their tea order delivered; for a fabulous lunch with Johnny at Tindlovu Restaurant in the Camps Bay Promenade, meeting up with Chef Chris Papayannes (whom I\u2019d last seen at the Newton Johnson Restaurant about 6 years ago), and now Group GM of the 10 Tindlovu restaurants around the country; for a drive with Johnny to Blouberg, walking along the Beachfront; for a second Camps Bay walk, walking with Lisa Hayden whom I bumped into when I was actually heading for Bakoven; for the City of Cape Town having spare electricity, which prevented us from being Loadshed at 18h00, coming off scot-free today; and for being happy and healthy. \ud83d\ude4f\ud83d\udc99<\/p>\n
Johnny messaged me, suggesting lunch at Tindlovu, never having been. It opened in December, and has a number of sister restaurants in the Kruger Park, and in Pretoria. We caught up with Chris\u2019 career, having spent a year at my favourite Hartford House in the Midlands. They reopened Tindlovu three days ago, and Chris will be spending three months here to get the restaurant up and running again. They had done no marketing amongst locals when the restaurant first opened. Nothing had drawn me into the restaurant, despite walking past it almost daily. Today we were the only diners at lunch time.<\/p>\n
The menu is being changed next week, but what we saw on the menu was a good mix of dishes at excellent prices. I ordered a grilled calamari starter with lemon butter sauce (R90) and Johnny Hake and chips, with two large pieces of fish, delicious chips, and tartare sauce (R120). Johnny allowed me to try his dish, and I ate most of the chips….. mmmm. Before our dishes arrived, a bread plate with Rooster rolls, butter, and apricot jam arrived, such an unusual touch. All delicious. All Covid procedures were followed, including measuring our temperature. #Dankie Johnny \ud83d\udc99<\/p>\n
Blouberg was too gorgeous this afternoon, busy, walking at the water\u2019s edge at times as their pavement is full of beach sand from the winter storms. Long queues for ice cream.<\/p>\n
I loved my day with Johnny, being a fabulous sounding board for matters legal, being an Advocate and Acting Judge, and he gave me some good suggestions for my EbbTide Trials and Tribulations \ud83d\ude31\ud83d\ude02\ud83d\ude0a<\/p>\n
Camps Bay was jam-packed with traffic all afternoon, just easing off now. Summer is back \ud83d\ude0a\ud83d\ude0a\ud83d\ude0a The Woolworths coffee hatch has reopened.<\/p>\n

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, and lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.<\/b><\/p>\n
