\"\"The Sweet Service Award<\/b> goes to Pick n Pay Camps Bay, and its Manager Odwa Mtonintshi for assisting me with a quick purchase of \u00a0the Daily Maverick 168 newspaper on Sunday, just requiring my Smart Card t9 be swiped to receive it for free. The store was so busy that it was running a controlled access, with a queue outside the store. When I was able to get inside, he pulled me to one side, got a cashier to swipe my Smartcard, and I was out of there without having to queue. I regularly retrieve Pick n Pay trollies in Camps Bay, and return then to the store, so we have a quid pro quo arrangement in helping each other. <\/p>\n

\"\"The Sweet Service Award <\/b>goes to Woolworths in the Piazza St John, for its poor service. \u00a0Bundles of carrots were marked at R16,99, and R14,99 on the shelf. Of course the till charged me the higher price. The cashier at the Express till insisted that I swipe my own Loyalty Card, something I have never been asked to do, as they normally have to swipe it on their screen and input certain information. When I refused she called a Manager to report me for not following the rules! There was no manager in the store, a young man rudely telling me so, and he walked off with out helping me. Then the carrot overcharge had to be sorted out, taking at least ten minutes to reverse the carrot price and to charge me again, a supervisor who was standing in the quorum for his own purchases assisting me with this! The cashier had a tremendous attitude, such a vast difference to the fantastic service which I receive at Woolworths Camps Bay. I had to ask for a bag for an item of clothing which I bought, the cashier not appearing to know that I was entitled to one. A shambles, and a Woolworths store to stay away from!<\/p>\n
