#Grateful for an amazing day with many surprises; for Imtiaz coming to work; for a leg wax at the Skin Studio in Sea Point, Stephanie always being gentle \ud83d\udc99; for a lovely hair cut and colour by Isabella Page Morgan \ud83d\udc99; for getting to my lunch date with Gary Peterson at the new Noah Caf\u00e9 almost on time, spending a most wonderful lunch and afternoon there \ud83d\udc99; for collecting the last three boxes of figs from Peppertree Caf\u00e9 \ud83d\udc99; for a quick clean up walk with Imtiaz, but we were far too early as the picnickers were still in Camps Bay in full force, so I\u2019ll go and do the rest tomorrow after the rain; for a fabulous evening at Utopia, lovely to see that it was so full that reservations were closed for this evening; for a surprise gift pack of wines and a gin standing outside my door from the lovely UK clients staying in one of the apartments in our building, with whom I had such a lovely restaurant chat two days ago, who had to return to the UK today due to a serious illness of his brother-in-law; and for being happy and healthy. \ud83d\ude4f\ud83d\udc99<\/p>\n
I saw a photograph of the entrance to Noah Caf\u00e9 in Tamboerskloof on Instagram, and knew that I had to try it. I was delighted that Gary could join me, and that I could get to know even more about him. As Gary takes such excellent photographs and is so eloquent in his writing I recommended that he should post on Instagram too, and start a Blog about all the beautiful tourist spots he knows in Cape Town. He was an excellent student, picking up the hang of it very quickly. I had to laugh at his Instagram user name @fufanyonga. We talked about frames to use for posting Facebook pics too. \ud83d\udc99\ud83d\udc4f\ud83d\ude0a<\/p>\n
Noah Caf\u00e9 opened two months ago, and has an unusual menu concept: sourdough bread sourced from Ailene Liefeld of A Sour Story in Tamboerskloof forms the main ingredient of almost every dish. \u2018Love Story\u2019 created especially for Valentine\u2019s Day was a beautiful Burrata surrounded by tomatoes and peach slices. Such a beautiful presentation. We ordered a sourdough bread with Avo and tomato, accompanied by an optional poached egg each. Our Almost a Dessert\u2019 dessert was even more special: a slice of sourdough with delicious creamy mascarpone cheese and fresh figs……. mmmmmm. We shared each dish. Lovely Dutch owners and waiter.<\/p>\n
I almost had a heart attack when I saw a dead cat on the pavement at the top of Geneva Drive. I had to stop and take a photograph, fearing that it was KitKat, a light ginger\/champagne cat. I posted it on a Camps Bay Telegram group, and was happy to hear that it wasn\u2019t KitKat.\ud83d\ude40<\/p>\n
I arrived at Utopia in very good spirits, after such a lovely day. I planned to welcome an invited guest Mia Moorcroft of Dineplan reservation system and her husband Matthew, so I joined them, initially just to have a glass of wine, but it became oysters and a Cr\u00e8me Br\u00fbl\u00e9e too. I met some managers of La Colombe dining there, and a Facebook friend. George Sax was in Valentine\u2019s Day mode already, playing very romantic music as a warm up for tomorrow. A lovely evening, ending off a fabulous day. \u2764\ufe0f\u2764\ufe0f\u2764\ufe0f<\/p>\n
Checking that four transactions I had done on Thursday were not fraud, Standard Bank decided to block my card without informing me anyway. Luckily I could get this overturned after my first transaction this morning. \ud83d\ude31 I could have landed up in police cells too, like Jacques Pauw. \ud83d\ude21\ud83d\ude21\ud83d\ude21<\/p>\n

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December, \u00a0extended to 15 February on 11 January, and extended but relaxed on 1 February, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.<\/p>\n
