<\/a>Sunday 20 June 2021, Father\u2019s Day, Day 5 of Level 3 \ud83d\ude37<\/b><\/p>\nCorona Gratitude \ud83d\ude4f<\/u><\/p>\n
#grateful for another fabulous day, a summer\u2019s day at 26C, sunny and warm; for a good sleep in silence \ud83d\ude4f; for a pop in at Paris Cape Town, a growing addiction, sadly most of their breads sold out; for spending lunchtime at Utopia Cape Town, photographing happy families celebrating Father\u2019s Day on such a beautiful day, and the handing over by GM Patso Ivanov of a Father\u2019s Day prize of Bain\u2019s Mountain whisky made in my hometown of Wellington as well as biltong, to Candice Mentoor who brought her family of 7, including her husband, father, and father in law \ud83d\udc4f; for meeting Dawn Gottgens at Utopia, she recognizing me from the Good Bad & Nasty Facebook Group; for being spoilt at Zest Restaurant at newkings boutique hotel, when I popped in there afterwards, eating my first delicious Zest dishes; for bumping into Lynne Gordon for the second time today, at Paris Cape Town and then at Woolworths in the Piazza da Luz, not having seen each other in a long time, and she adopted by a cat; for a magnificent red sunset this evening; for bumping into Craig and Lisa opposite my apartment block when I went for a quick walk to walk off the Zest eating, not having seen them in ages; for having so much fun, no longer bored with my life; and for being happy, healthy, and free. \ud83d\ude4f\ud83d\udc99<\/p>\n
At Zest Chef Pavel asked me what I wanted to eat, having a craving for chips when I saw them go past me at Utopia. I started with Chocolate Mousse with a difference, with an ice cold chocolate granita, and milk jam, and chocolate shavings, made by Executive Chef Scott Melvin, ooh wow. Then I had Kabeljou with a caper side salad, and chips…… And then I tried a Lemonade Parfait made by Chef Scott too, with lemon thyme meringue chards….. mmmmmm. The cute manbun Mixologist Josh made me a Promenade Apple cocktail, with Dewar\u2019s 12 year old whisky and freshly squeezed apple juice, refreshing for the warm afternoon. A guest dining there recognized me from my Blog in writing about Chef Jan-Hendrik van der Westhuizen\u2019s Restaurant KLEIN JAN.<\/p>\n
Such a lovely afternoon spent at Utopia and Zest.<\/p>\n
The downside was cat food shopping at Woolies at Piazza da Luz, when their brand new till system crashed, the till slip not reflecting what I had bought. Every possible Manager in the shop was called, and then they still had to call for advice. It took half an hour for them to sort out the problem, receiving a R100 gift card for my Discovery voucher which I\u2019d used to pay for most of my shopping. I\u2019m so excited that our Camps Bay branch manager Gary Arendse is moving to the Piazza da Luz branch at the end of the month, seeing that I\u2019m shopping there once a week now.<\/p>\n
So happy that Harvest Culture Eaterie had such good Father\u2019s Day lunch bookings. \ud83d\ude4f<\/p>\n
What an exciting week, weekend, and day today this has been. \u2764\ufe0f\u2764\ufe0f\u2764\ufe0f<\/p>\n

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December, \u00a0extended to 15 February on 11 January, extended but relaxed on 1 February, and relaxed back to Level 1 on 1 March 2021, moved back to Adjusted Level 2 on 31 May, and moved back to level 3 on 16 June, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.<\/p>\n
