\"\"<\/a>After calling for nominations in 30 different Best of \u00a0categories for its Best of the Cape Awards, Kfm \u00a0announced the five Finalists in the 30 categories throughout the day yesterday.<\/p>\n

The restaurant industry has been fortunate to receive strong support in the Awards, an industry which has been severely disadvantaged during the past 18 months of Lockdown, 5 out of the 30 Best of categories being restaurant-related.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In the Best Date Night Restaurant<\/b> category, Utopia Cape Town (Photograph) in De Waterkant, \"\"<\/a>Homespun by Matt in Blouberg, Avontuur Restaurant in Stellenbosch, Henri\u2019s Restaurant and Wine Bar in Somerset West, and Ben\u2019s on the Beach are the Finalists. Best Family Restaurants<\/b> include Folk Caf\u00e9 in St James, Forneria Italia in Table View, Hooked in Tyger Valley, Petiscos in Parklands, and The Belgian Waffle House in Strand. Best Take-Away Spots<\/b> Finalists are Butler\u2019s Pizza, Anneesa\u2019s, Eat out the Box, StrEAT Bistro, Wood Fired Food Truck, and Wings on the Run Food Truck. The Best Coffee<\/b> shops short-listed are Bootlegger, Tulip in Hermanus, Patriot in Kuilsriver, Simple Bru in Tableview, and Gansbaai Coffee Company. Best Pet-friendly Eateries <\/b>Finalists are The Milkwood Restaurant in Onrus, The Shuntin\u2019 Shed in Botrivier, South Hill Vineyards in Elgin, Blend in Knysna, and Maria\u2019s Greek Caf\u00e9 in Gardens.<\/p>\n

From today 1 million Kfm listeners will be able to vote on www.kfm.co.za<\/u> for the best of the five Finalists in each category, listeners having one opportunity to vote per category. Voting continues until midnight on 25 August. From the voting a winner in each category will be announced, resulting in 30 Best of the Cape businesses, attractions, services, and \u00a0community-based \u00a0organisations.<\/p>\n

All category winners will be announced on the station on Friday, 3 September. The announcement will also be live streamed on the KFM 94.5 Facebook page, and the winners promoted on various social media channels.<\/p>\n

The KFM Best of The Cape Awards is spearheaded by\u00a0KFM Mornings with Darren, Sherlin and Sibs<\/i>. According to host Darren Simpson, the initiative is something he has personally wanted to do for years.\u00a0“You know, I’m constantly amazed with how unique and different the businesses and people are in this province. I think it’s time to celebrate and promote what makes us unique and support those businesses that make us who we are.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n
