\"\"<\/a>President Ramaphosa moved our country to Level 2 in his President\u2019s Speech, after 47 days at Level 3. He also announced the later start of Curfew, at 23h00 from midnight tonight.<\/p>\n

Alcohol sales regulations have been relaxed too, to allow retail sales from Mondays – Fridays.<\/p>\n

Vaccine passports are to be introduced.<\/p>\n

The President quoted figures from the Western Cape Government, proving how effective vaccinations are in keeping persons over the age of 60 years out of hospitals if they contract Covid, and few are likely to die of it. A total of 14,6 million vaccine doses have been used in our country, one in 5 persons in most provinces now fully vaccinated. The focus is still on persons 60 plus years of age, and those with co-morbidities, being encouraged to be vaccinated. As a continent Africa ranks lowest on vaccinations, the President said.<\/p>\n

The sooner the population is vaccinated, the sooner tourists can return to our country, sports events can take place again, and one can meet with friends and family, he added. The Third Wave is on a steady decline in all provinces.<\/p>\n

The following regulations were relaxed, to be re-evaluated in 14 days:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. \u00a0Move to Adjusted Level 2 from tomorrow<\/li>\n
  2. \u00a0The new Curfew hours are 23h00 – 4h00.<\/li>\n
  3. \u00a0Restaurants now close at 22h00.<\/li>\n
  4. \u00a0Gatherings raised to 250 persons indoors, and outdoors to 500 persons.<\/li>\n
  5. Alcohol retail sales allowed from Monday – \u00a0Friday, from 10h00 – 18h00.<\/li>\n
  6. Funerals remain restricted to attendance by 50 persons.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Vaccination passports are being looked at by the Government. The regulations introduced today will be evaluated in 14 days.<\/p>\n
