* \u00a0 Wines of South Africa (WOSA)<\/strong><\/span><\/a> met with Wines of Chile and Wines of Argentina in Mendoza last week, to discuss communal marketing activities for the wines of their countries, particularly in China. ‘We met and reviewed the common goals that we have: To do things in innovative ways that are more cost-effective for producers. Our decision to invest in business-events tourism was informed by our strategy to diversify our offerings and source markets. The international leisure market is always volatile in times of global economic uncertainty. That is why we balance our investment in domestic and long-haul tourism; in leisure and business tourism, and a portfolio of both mature and emerging source markets’,<\/em> the Minister said. \u00a0The Department launched the\u00a0\u00a0South African National Convention Bureau (NCB) to show how serious it is about business and events tourism, and its contribution to tourism growth. It has assisted our country in securing 88 major bids with 200000 delegates for the next four years, a contribution of \u00a0R2,6 billion to the tourism economy.<\/p>\n
