* \u00a0 Creative Week Cape Town forms part of the Loerie Awards being held from 14 – 22 September, with a range of ‘crowd-sourced’<\/em> events on offer at no charge. \u00a0Cape Town will be\u00a0turned\u00a0\u2018inside out\u2019<\/i>\u00a0, offering film, yoga, night time bicycle rides to street art installation, artist\u2019s tours and talks, gatherings, poetry,and public space pop-ups. * \u00a0 Tim Atkin<\/strong><\/span><\/a> praises the ‘Swartland Revolution<\/em>‘ for being ‘one of the most dynamic regions in the southern hemisphere<\/em>‘, and Charles Back of Fairview for having discovered the excellence of the Sauvignon Blanc grown there, despite the heat.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 Despite only about 100 internet users having made use of the free wifi offered in the Company’s Garden offered by the City of Cape Town in the first eleven days of its introduction, the Cape Town Partnership<\/strong><\/span><\/a> has collaborated in the project (not acknowledged in the City media release) and praises its success, in a media release which must have been prepared by its new communications manager (and former PR and Communications Manager of Cape Town Tourism) Skye Grove. \u00a0Even Cape Town Tourism is pulled into the report.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 The Tourism Grading Council of South Africa<\/span> <\/strong><\/a>lost many accommodation establishments when it significantly altered the criteria for graded establishments, particularly in the 4* and 5* categories. \u00a0Without explanation of the reason of a review, but based on feedback from the industry, some of the strict regulations have been relaxed. \u00a0Five star properties may now offer a bath or a shower (previously both were mandatory) with the proviso that this is communicated in all marketing collateral, and 4 star establishments may offer shower curtains instead of screens, as long as the curtains are washed after every guest stay! The industry was not interested in star categories beyond 5 stars.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 South Africa’s youngest winemaker<\/span><\/strong><\/a> is eleven year old Emma Martin, who has just released her Pinot Noir 2012, a single barrel limited release with 300 bottles. \u00a0Emma is the daughter of JP and Carolyn Martin of Creation.<\/p>\n
