* \u00a0 The Free World Design Centre in Cape Town is hosting trendtalk#6 on 3 September, with the theme \u00a0‘the colour of the times’<\/em>. It forms part of National Colour Week, which runs from 1 – 7 September. \u00a0Key presenters will share the latest design and d\u00e9cor trends. Entry is free of charge. \u00a0The trendtalk<\/i>#6 speaker panel includes \u00a0journalist Les Aupiais, fashion stylist Catherine Bowen, and colour trend forecaster Anne Roselt. * \u00a0 Madama Butterfly is flying into Simonsig’s Cuv\u00e9e restaurant on 5 September, when members of its cast will perform arias from the Puccini opera. \u00a0Head Chef Lucas Carstens’ menu will be paired with the opera highlights, and includes seared tuna with daikon salad, a green tea refresher, Springbok loin served with oriental mushroom duxelle, and Mitsumame, a Japanese sundae. \u00a0Cost is R500 for the meal, each course paired with Simonsig wines. * \u00a0 Africa Ports Evolution starts at the Cape Town International Convention Centre tomorrow and runs until Wednesday. \u00a0Alan\u00a0Winde, Western Cape Minister of Finance, Economic Development, and Tourism, is one of the keynote speakers. The Western Cape is developing a proposal for the redesign for the Port of Cape Town precinct with the City of Cape Town and the national Government. \u00a0Minister Winde said that ‘through our ports, which<\/em> (sic) major strategic assets, we can position the Western Cape as the entry and exit point for goods to the booming African continent’. \u00a0 One of the points of discussion is finding \u00a0ways\u00a0to reduce transit times for the export and import of goods to and from Africa’. \u00a0\u00a0<\/em>(via media release from Minister Winde’s office)<\/p>\n
