\"Ultimate<\/a>Season 2 of the popular Pick ‘n Pay ‘The Ultimate Braai Master’<\/em> will sizzle on TV screens on SABC3 this evening, just in time for National Braai Day on Tuesday. The new theme for the series is ‘The Roads Less Travelled<\/em>‘, and would appear to be a travelogue about the beauty of our country and its wild life too. ‘The Ultimate Braai Master’<\/em> judges Bertus Basson from Overture and Marthinus Ferreira from DW Eleven-13 feature in Season 2 again.<\/p>\n

In tonight’s episode the action kicks off at Hluhluwe Game Reserve, after the Braai \"Ultimate<\/a>Master teams\u00a0survived gruelling auditions with 250 of the 4000 applicants around the country. The top fifteen teams travel to the Hilltop Resort in the Hluhluwe Nature Reserve, \u00a0the first of 13 off-the-beaten-track locations. After a sumptuous welcome dinner prepared by the judges (and Eat Out<\/strong> Top 10 Restaurant chefs!) Bertus and Marthinus, the teams cross tongs in their bid to secure a place in the competition, with a prize package of R\u00bd million\u00a0and a Renault Koleos 4×4. \u00a0In their first challenge, contestants realise that it will take teamwork, outdoor kitchen finesse, and fireside skills to impress the judges and become eligible to take the 2013 Ultimate Braai Master title. With little over an hour to prove their fire and passion for the braai, some contestants\u2019 confidence starts flagging, leaving three teams to battle it out in a tough elimination challenge the following day. The weakest team is sent home with their dream in tatters.<\/p>\n

Filming was done by Cooked in Africa Films during this past very cold winter, and the production team of 60 traveled 8000 km in 60 days, with contestants cooking\u00a0in a wide range of terrains, creating innovative dishes on the fire, and staying warm! \"Ultimate<\/a>Show\u00a0host and gourmet bush cook Justin Bonello documents the cooking adventure of a lifetime, on his travels with show judges Chefs Marthinus and Bertus! \u00a0‘While we pushed the contestants that much harder this year, raising the bar on Ultimate Braai cuisine, we also raised the production values of the Series resulting in a fast-paced action-packed Drama that is as much about the people and places as it is about the food<\/em>‘, said Justin. The reality TV food show is sponsored by Pick ‘n Pay, and supported by Coca-Cola, Standard Bank, and Renault.<\/p>\n
