* \u00a0 Durban is setting itself a goal to become the top beach destination in Africa by 2030<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, which would be at the expense of Cape Town! \u00a0 The KwaZulu-Natal\u00a0MEC for Economic Development and Tourism, Michael Mabuyakhulu, launched his province’s\u00a0Tourism Master Plan in Durban last week. ‘By 2030, KZN will be globally renowned as Africa\u2019s top beach destination with a unique blend of wildlife, scenic and heritage experiences for all visitors<\/em>‘, he said!<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 Hotels and Facebook users are the two largest sources of credit card fraud<\/strong><\/span><\/a> says the Airline Information Group. \u00a0Staff at hotels, especially those at the front desk, have access to guest card details and tend to use these to buy airline tickets for themselves!<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 Interesting (and surprising) is a proposed ‘Fly South African<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/a>‘ policy to be implemented for travel by government officials or government-funded travel. \u00a0The officials appear to not be happy with this, given SAA’s poor service record. \u00a0The competitor airlines aren’t happy either, saying it is anti-competitive!<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 An 18 litre bottle of a blend of 45 Cape Winemakers Guild 2011 vintage wines will be one of the wines auctioned at the\u00a0Nedbank Cape Winemakers Guild Auction on 5 October, to be held at Spier. \u00a0Blended by\u00a0Guild Cellarmaster Frans Smit, the unique bottle of wine reflects the passion and camaraderie of the members of the Cape Winemakers Guild, all masters of their craft. \u00a0The proceeds of the Auction go to the\u00a0Nedbank Cape Winemakers Development Trust, which runs the Prot\u00e9g\u00e9 Programme for the development of young aspirant winemakers.
