\"Hotel<\/a>The Sweet Service Award<\/strong> goes to the Cape Town Hotel School Restaurant in Granger Bay, and its soon-to-be-departing GM Alan Romburgh and Executive Chef Jerome Peters. With the help of Manley Communications, wines supplied by All\u00e9e Bleue, and 3 year old brandy from KWV, they had invited a number of writers to a seafood lunch on its terrace to launch its new Summer menu.\u00a0 We were sent home by Chef Jerome with dinner as well, being West Coast mussels with coconut milk, lemongrass, fresh ginger, and coriander.<\/p>\n

\"Department<\/a>The Sour Service Award<\/strong> goes to the Department of Public Works and its staff, in not checking that suppliers overcharge them excessively when supplies are ordered, ultimately affecting the taxpayer. \u00a0The Times<\/strong> quotes examples of glass rental at R200 per glass. \u00a0A total of R3,6 billion is reported to have been paid by the Department in the past four years without proper ‘procurement processes<\/em>‘. \u00a0Of the 200 reported cases of financial mismanagement over the past four years by the Department, only 15 have been referred for investigation.<\/p>\n
