\"Franschhoek<\/a>One of Franschhoek’s most popular annual events is the Franschhoek Cap Classique and Champagne Festival, which will be held this coming Saturday and Sunday. \u00a0Close to 50 top Champagnes and MCCs (M\u00e9thode Cap Classique) will be available to taste, as is food supplied by Franschhoek restaurants.<\/p>\n

The theme is ‘<\/span>Black and White<\/em>‘, with an emphasis on spots and stripes, and bubbly fans will be enjoying ‘<\/span>The Magic of Bubbles<\/em>‘ on what is forecast to be a perfect weather weekend. <\/span>Not only will\u00a0MCCs from Franschhoek be on show, but top sparkling wines from other regions \u00a0and Champagnes will be too.<\/p>\n

Veuve Clicquot winemaker Pierre Casenave will be at the brand’s stand between 12h00 – 13h00 on both days. Other Champagne brands available for tasting are Billecart- Salmon, Champagne Guy Charbaut, Claude Beaufort, Follet-Ramillon, Piper Heidsieck, Thierry Lesne, and Tribaut.<\/p>\n

The 40 well-known MCC producers pouring their bubblies are Pierre Jourdan,Morena, M\u00f4reson, La Motte, Boschendal, Leopard\u2019s Leap, Noble Hill, Plaisir de Merle, Anthonij Rupert, Graham Beck, Krone, Simonsig, Steenberg, Villiera, All\u00e9e Bleue, Avondale, Backsberg, Bon Courage, Cederberg, Chabivin, Charles Fox, Colmant, De Wetshof, Dieu Donn<\/span>\u00e9, Francois La Garde, Genevieve, GM & Ahrens, Groote Post, JC le Roux, Laborie, <\/span>My Wyn, Rickety Bridge, Ross Gower Wines, Saltare, Silverthorn, Sterhuis, Stony Brook, Weltevrede, Wonderfontein, and Woolworths.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The bubbles will be supplemented by delicacies prepared for the Festival, offered by a selection of Franschhoek restaurants, including The Restaurant at Grande Provence, Bread & Wine, Eat Out Top 10 restaurant Pierneef\u00a0 \u00e0 La Motte<\/span><\/a><\/strong>, The SalmonBar, Dieu Donn\u00e9, Haute Cabri\u00e8re, Roca, Caf\u00e9 BonBon, L’ermitage, Mont Rochelle, and Le Franschhoek hotel. \u00a0Additional stands are for Deluxe Coffeeworks, Huguenot Fine Chocolates, Chamonix water, Wild Peacock selling oysters, and the Lions who sell strawberries.<\/p>\n

Not only will bubbly fans be tasting excellent sparkling wines and champagnes and meet the winemakers, the Festival also is a very social affair, allowing one to reconnect with old friends and make new friends!<\/p>\n
