* \u00a0 From 1 February wine estates in the Cape Town municipal area, which applies to Somerset West too despite the wine estates there belonging to the Stellenbosch Wine Routes, may no longer sell ‘bottled wines’<\/em> on Sundays.<\/strong><\/span><\/a> \u00a0Wine farms may apply to sell bottled wines from 11h00 – 18h00 on Sundays.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0Former American Vice-President and climate activist Al Gore is to visit South Africa in March, to spread the word for the Climate Reality Project about climate change and to train volunteer\u00a0‘climate leaders<\/em>‘ to spread the word locally, reports The New Age.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

* \u00a0 The IMF has forecast global economic growth<\/strong><\/span><\/a> at 3,7%, upping the rate from its October 2013 forecast. \u00a0South Africa’s growth rate is forecast to be 2,8% this year. Weaknesses in our economy are highlighted as labour issues, the disparity between employed and unemployed, and increasing government debt.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 An Indian film ‘Chander Pahar<\/em>‘,\u00a0shot for 45 days exclusively in South Africa<\/a>,<\/strong><\/span> is attracting huge interest in our country amongst West Bengal travellers. \u00a0Locations included the Kruger National Park, Kalahari Desert, Elands River valley, Blyde River Canyon, and the Drakensberg mountains. \u00a0SA Tourism Country Manager Hanneli Slabber said of the movie: ‘We have received a lot of queries and there is a huge interest because of the movie’,<\/em> which was released last month. \u00a0Ms Slabber and Bengal Tourism are putting together travel packages linked to the movie.<\/p>\n
