* \u00a0 Condor is adding a third flight per week between Cape Town and Frankfurt<\/strong><\/span><\/a> from 6 November, due to increased demand from German tourists in particular. \u00a0The airline said that there had been no increase in demand between the two destinations on the Johannesburg route, but that demand had grown between Cape Town and Frankfurt by 7% in the past year.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 The global Hotel Price Index has shown a 3% increase in the past year<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, the fourth year running that it has increased after declines during the worst of the economic crisis. \u00a0 The current Index at 110 is still 7 points lower than the peak in 2007.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 At the Cape Town Art Fair last week, child visitors were asked to vote for their favourite work of art, by placing a sticker next to it, the most popular children’s choice being bought by The Sovereign Group, which sponsored the Cape Town Art Fair. \u00a0A colourful work by Jody Paulsen won the children’s vote, but it was sold during the exhibition. \u00a0A new work by Paulsen will be bought by the company, and donated to the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa, which opens in the Silos in the V&A Waterfront in 2016. * \u00a0 Bouchard Finlayson will be hosting Tutored Wine Tastings by winemaker Peter Finlayson at Mondiall in Cape Town on 2 April, and at Coobs in Johannesburg on 8 April. \u00a0Further winetastings will be held in Cape Town on 26 June, 13 August, and 12 November, and in Johannesburg on 26 August. \u00a0Cost is R200 per person. * \u00a0 The Stellenbosch American Express Wine Routes is launching the Ultimate Bucket List Competition at the International Toerismusboerse (ITB) travel trade fair in Berlin from tomorrow until Sunday, aimed at international travel trade and media. \u00a0One couple will win its ultimate bucket list holiday in Stellenbosch, to experience the ‘unparalleled world of sensory wine tourism experiences<\/em>‘. \u00a0Surprising is that Mariette du Toit-Helmbold, who is driving the campaign for the Stellenbosch Wine Routes via her new company Destinate, describes it as an ‘international tourism marketing agency<\/em>‘, even though she only has two local clients! \u00a0 She also writes in the media release that she is sharing a stand with Wesgro, SA Tourism, and TripAdvisor at ITB, when she is in fact a roving delegate not linked to any stand!
