\"La<\/a>The Sweet Service Award<\/strong> goes to La Residence, and its staff Kalika, Galant, Jean, Lee, Ashwin, and Jaleel, who assisted in fetching my laptop and a basket from my guest house in Franschhoek, when I had left them \u00a0behind due to a rushed departure to meet a deadline in Cape Town last week. \u00a0 I met Galant at Cape Town International early the following morning, after Jean had collected the laptop in a house he had not been to before, to collect the laptop, and Ashwin brought the basket to our guest house in Camps Bay, both exceptional service acts.<\/p>\n

\"Rubybox\"<\/a>The Sour Service Award<\/strong> goes to Rubybox, a company that delivers a surprise box of beauty products to its subscribers every month, at different subscription rates, and is nominated by Anel Grobler of WineTimes<\/strong>: \u00a0‘I have a sour service award nomination for you – Rubybox.co.za<\/a>.\u00a0According to their delivery policy on their website, your box will be delivered between the 8th and 15t of every month. I only received my very first delivery on time but after that I have to beg and plead via email, phone, twitter and facebook every month to ask when it will be delivered. On Monday they told me that I will receive it on Tuesday, latest. That did not happen. I’m also not the only one complaining. Their facebook wall is full of comments and complaints and on their twitter feed you’ll find more apologies than anything else. They were quick to debit my account on Monday already for my April box while I’m still waiting on March’s delivery. According to the one (and the only) email correspondence that I’ve received so far from them, they don’t have stock left, which means they are clearly overselling something that they don’t have, yet they are quick to take our money. What’s even worse is that their head-office is right across the road from me – Harrington House in Barrack street’.<\/em><\/p>\n
