* \u00a0 Gareth Cliff left 5FM today<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, after 10 years at the radio station. \u00a0There appears to be no news about his future plans.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 Heston Blumenthal is moving The Fat Duck restaurant in Bray UK to Melbourne<\/strong> <\/span><\/a>in February next year for six months, whereafter he will call the restaurant Dinner.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 Moyo has closed down at Spier, following the recent closure of Moyo at the V&A Waterfront, reports the Cape Times<\/strong> today.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 Excellent news is that the International Court of Justice in The Hague has placed an immediate\u00a0stop on whaling by Japanese boats<\/strong><\/span><\/a> in the South Antarctic ocean, after it was found that the whales have not been caught for scientific research, as claimed, but have been sold as food! \u00a0Australia brought the matter to the court. \u00a0The Whaling Commission banned commercial whaling in 1986. \u00a0Japan is said to have caught 850 minke and 50 fin whales annually, a total of 10000 whales in the past 30 years. \u00a0Coupled to this is the declining taste for whale meat by Japanese consumers.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 Stellenbosch Hills is running the Biltong Champion 2014 competition for the fourth year. \u00a0The wine estate is the first to have paired dry meats and wine, through their Biltong & Dro\u00ebwors Adventure. \u00a0The Stellenbosch Hills Cabernet Sauvignon 2011 will be paired with\u00a0biltong in the competition this year, which carries prize money of R15000.
