* \u00a0 Tim James has used an aggregation poll of 29 wine retailers as well as writers, some international, to compile a Top 5 and Top 20 South African winery list<\/strong><\/span><\/a>. \u00a0The Top 5 ranked list is Sadie Family Wines, Mullineux Family Wines, Kanonkop, Boekenhoutskloof, and Chamonix. \u00a0The ranking from 6th to 20th is as follows: Paul Cluver, Newton Johnson, Cape Point Vineyards, Hamilton Russell, Vergelegen, Tokara, Thelema, Jordan, Cederberg, Delaire Graff, AA Badenhorst, Klein Constantia, Meerlust, Reyneke, and De Trafford.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 A consumer promotion has been launched in the UK by Kumala wines, the largest selling SA wine<\/strong><\/span><\/a> in that country, to tie in with the launch of the ‘Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom<\/em>‘ DVD, with prizes of a visit to South Africa offered, DVDs, and wine.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 Eat Out<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0is inviting nominations for its Eat Out<\/strong> Top 500 restaurants to be included in the 2015 edition. The nominated restaurants will be evaluated by a panel, to choose the top 500 restaurants. \u00a0The closing date for nominations (on www.eatout.co.za<\/strong><\/a>) is 13 May. * \u00a0 The inaugural Mandela International Film Festival<\/strong><\/span><\/a> will be held from 3 – 12 December 2015 in Port Elizabeth. \u00a0Given the 20 years of South Africa’s democracy, the ‘inaugural festival will honour the film, entertainment and media legends that made a continuous effort to keep South Africa top of mind during the apartheid era as South Africa celebrate 20 years of freedom and independence’.<\/em><\/p>\n

* \u00a0 The Twelve Apostles Hotel & Spa is offering its ‘Tea by the Sea’<\/em> with a chocolate feast in winter. \u00a0Their ‘Chocolate Tea by the Sea’<\/em> will be offered in May – \u00a0July, Pastry Chef Nathan Jacobs preparing a chocolate heaven of chocolate cupcakes with lime buttercream, orange and chocolate macaroons, chocolate cr\u00e9meux, and chocolate brownies. \u00a0Added to this will be a selection of finger sandwiches, scones, vanilla panna cotta, shortbread, cream puffs, and almond frangipane.
