\"Uber<\/a>The Sweet Service Award<\/strong> goes to Uber, for its innovative international launch (in 130 countries) of #UberIceCream 2014 tomorrow, to ‘turn the other cheek to the winter chill’<\/em>\u00a0in South Africa, and to position Uber as much more than an alternative taxi service. \u00a0Packages of tubs of frozen yoghurt, toppings, Uber swag scarves, and delivery tomorrow between \u00a011h00 – 17h00 are available to order on the Uber app at R120 in Cape Town, and R165 in Johannesburg, Pretoria, and Johannesburg. \u00a0To launch the campaign in South Africa, it is linked locally to Nelson Mandela Day today. \u00a0Sick children at the Johannesburg General Hospital will be spoilt with an ice cream delivery this weekend. \u00a0The company will also bring children from the Alex AIDS Project in Johannesburg to a Filo Yoghurt outlet, and to My\u00f6g for children from the Uluntu Centre in Cape Town, so that they can make up their favourite frozen yoghurt treats.<\/p>\n

\"Cinema<\/a><\/p>\n

The Sour Service Award<\/strong> goes to Cinema Nouveau in the V&A Waterfront, which did not have any of its credit card machines working twice in one week. \u00a0Without checking upfront how one wished to pay, \u00a0the staff did the transaction at the box office, but then refused to accept payment by credit card there, suspiciously insisting on payment by cash. \u00a0I wanted to pay by credit card, so we had to cancel everything, and do the booking again at the machine at their entrance. It is inexplicable that parent company Ster-Kinekor can operate a cinema without having any working credit card machines!<\/p>\n
