\"Kfm<\/a>The Sweet Service Award<\/strong> goes to Kfm\/Sentech, for (finally) doing something about the poor reception on the Atlantic Seaboard of Kfm<\/strong> (and with it GoodHopeFM<\/strong>\u00a0and 5FM<\/strong>), the problems having commenced in May after a severe winter storm. \u00a0Reception of these radio stations has been almost non-existent in one’s home, but never a problem in the car, until May. \u00a0I Tweeted Kfm<\/strong>, and some of its presenters, and then called Primedia Broadcasting, and spoke to some of their technical staff, but was told that this is really in the hands of Sentech. \u00a0I received a call from a very nice gentleman from Sentech, whose name I unfortunately did not record, who had been contacted by Kfm<\/strong>, and he explained that Kfm<\/strong> is broadcast via the Tygerberg tower, while the other two stations come via the Hout Bay one. A Hout Bay friend had however experienced similar radio reception problems in her area. \u00a0All of a sudden, after two months, there was perfect car radio reception again between Sea Point, Clifton, Bantry Bay, and Camps Bay, a route I do almost daily!<\/p>\n

\"Sentech\"<\/a>The Sour Service Award<\/strong> goes to Sentech. \u00a0The TV reception for the SABC and etv channels is exceptionally poor in Franschhoek, the reason being the non-maintenance of the closest TV tower, I was told by our Cathmar TV technician. \u00a0Sentech want Franschhoekers to subscribe to a R29 per month booster via MultiChoice, to improve the signal in their homes! \u00a0The radio reception of all stations, other than Radio 2000<\/strong>, \u00a0is almost nonexistent in Franschhoek, probably due to the same reason.<\/p>\n
