* \u00a0 The City of Cape Town has created its own vegetable, fruit, and herb garden in the Company’s Garden<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, which is where Jan van Riebeek planted Cape Town’s first vegetable garden after he landed in 1652 to supply ships of the Dust East India Company passing the Cape on their routes between Holland and the East. \u00a0It has been given the mouthful of a name Vereenigde Oost-Indische Compagnie (VOC) vegetable and herb garden in the Company’s Garden! \u00a0The garden will also contain indigenous medicinal herbs and edible plants. \u00a0There are no plans to replicate the growing of vines to make wines!<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 America is to be marketed as a ‘Gastro-tourism’<\/em> destination<\/strong><\/span> <\/a>by its marketing agency Brand USA, given the diverse cultures living in the country. \u00a0A six-language ‘Discover America: Great American Food Stories<\/em>‘ culinary guide has been published for visitors to the country.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 A cheeky advertising campaign for cheeky craft beer Garagista Beer<\/strong><\/span><\/a> is attracting attention not only locally but also internationally, poking fun at the hipsters drinking beer, especially those drinking it for the image rather than for the beer itself! \u00a0Its cheeky pay-off line is ‘All beer. No bullshit’<\/em>! \u00a0 The brewery is on Albert Road in Woodstock.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 Flight delays and cancellations, together with queuing for security, and paying for baggage, are the three top irritations of flying,<\/strong><\/span><\/a> to such an extent that 8 % of potential American domestic travelers cancelled their trips. \u00a0This has a snowball effect on accommodation and restaurant bookings too.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 Artists such as Strijdom van der Merwe, Jaco Sieberhagen, and William Cruise have been invited to create functional ‘Come Sit’<\/em> works of outside sculpture art out of 24 minimalist concrete benches spread throughout Stellenbosch’s centre.
