Specifically for our smaller towns, events bring much needed stimulus to their economy. \u00a0Domestic travellers are the bread and butter of our tourism industry. By supporting local events, residents are able to contribute to job creation in the area<\/em>&#8216;, said Minister Winde.<\/p>\n<p>* \u00a0 The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedrinksbusiness.com\/2014\/07\/matching-music-to-beer-can-improve-taste\/?article-source=newsletter&amp;source=915&amp;date=2014-07-04\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>music one listens to while drinking beer can influence its taste<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, says Professor Charles Spence of Oxford University, after conducting a multi-sensory study amongst 3000 drinkers. which tested the impact of sound, light, and taste. Colour and sound can affect the taste of wine. \u00a0The study was replicated for beer, with a similar finding.<\/p>\n<p>* \u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eturbonews.com\/47599\/tripadvisor-announces-offline-functionality-its-smartphone-app\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>TripAdvisor has launched its Smartphone App<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, which allows one to download the information before leaving home, <!--more-->and then to access the information for 300 cities offline in the travel destination, avoiding expensive roaming charges. \u00a0The App will move between more limited information if the user is offline, or the full information if wifi is detected.<\/p>\n<p>* \u00a0 One&amp;Only Cape Town is hosting a charity auction dinner with the Forever Wild Lion programme of the Wilderness Foundation on 18 September, to counter the lion-bone trade. \u00a0The South African lion population has decreased vastly in the last 100 years, to only about 30000. \u00a0Tickets cost R750. The most southerly located wine estate in Africa, Strandveld scored 92 out of 100 points for its Pofadderbos Sauvignon Blanc 2013 and Adamastor 2011, and 91 points for its Syrah 2010.
