* \u00a0 Unemployment is at a six year high at 25%<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, \u00a0with a surprising figure of 36% for ‘extended unemployment rate<\/em>‘ recorded too, being ‘people who have given up looking for jobs<\/em>‘!<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 ‘Reconsider<\/em>‘, the TV commercial<\/strong><\/span><\/a> created by Ireland\/Davenport for SA Tourism, has already been seen more than 700000 times on YouTube<\/strong>, and will also be flighted on CNN<\/strong> and National Geographic<\/strong>, reaching ‘more than 1,3 billion households’,<\/em> the media statement of the agency claims! \u00a0The commercial highlights the beauty of our country, but also the specialness of our people. \u00a0Agency MD Philip Ireland said: ‘<\/em>We were very lucky to have a client who not only believed in us but who stayed incredibly close to the creative process, and refused to accept anything less than world class from us. At every step there was an absolute refusal to compromise. South Africa is a world class destination and it was imperative that the thinking and the execution were not just flawless, but better than anything the category had seen before<\/em>‘, to which SA Tourism CEO Thulani Nzima added: ‘<\/span>It puts the South African people at the heart of South Africa’s appeal’.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

* \u00a0 <\/span>Wines of South Africa (WOSA) is to be awarded the ‘Voice of Wine’ prize<\/strong><\/a> at the World Bulk Wine Exhibition, to be held in Amsterdam later this year. \u00a0The award will recognise WOSA’s promotion of wines internationally, and the improvement of their image.<\/span><\/div>\n

* \u00a0 <\/span>Stellenbrau Brewery Craven Craft Lager has won Best Lager<\/strong> <\/a>at the 2014 Global Craft Beer Awards in Germany, beating 38 other entries, a panel of 36 judges found. \u00a0‘<\/span>I would say that South Africa is definitely on the radar \u2014 people know that it\u2019s getting hot down there and that the scene is definitely something worth looking into<\/em>‘, said Kiera Senst of the Global Association of Craft Beer Brewers. \u00a0Despite the increased popularity of craft beers, they represent only 1% of all beer sold locally.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

* \u00a0 The Spur Corporation has increased sales by an astounding 14%<\/strong><\/span><\/a> to R5,5 billion in the past year, its sales in this country having increased by 13%. \u00a0International sales grew by 20%, but were largely boosted by the exchange rate. \u00a0Spur Steak Ranches grew by 11%, and Panarottis Pizza Pasta by 28%.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
