* \u00a0Robert Redford has been spotted in Cape Town<\/strong><\/span><\/a> and Franschhoek, and visited Cape Point Vineyards twice in three days earlier this week, writing in their Guest Book: ‘A calm elegance with good food and good wine and no hangover’. \u00a0<\/em>He visited the Appelbaums at De Morgenzon today.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 In a poorly written article, with words omitted and typing errors in the headline, News24<\/strong> has reported that new Tourism Minister Derek Hanekom has appointed Zwelibanzi Mntambo as the new Chairman of SA Tourism<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, after the sudden resignation of former Chairman Frank Kilbourn. \u00a0There is no indication in the article as to the Tourism link of Mr Mntambo. \u00a0A Google search shows that no person by this name has business interests in Tourism, but that he was appointed by former Minister of Tourism Marthinus van Schalkwyk as Deputy Chairman of SA Tourism two years ago!<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 Jordan has won the first Novare Trophy for Top Terroir Producer,<\/strong><\/span><\/a> out of 276 wines entered, in addition to winning three national awards for its Chenin Blanc 2013, Sauvignon Blanc 2013, and Chameleon 2013, as well as a Top 5 Estate Wine category for its Chameleon 2013.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 Nederburg is using UK TV presenter Jimmy Doherty<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, star of ‘Jimmy’s Farm’<\/em>, as well as ‘Jamie and Jimmy’s Friday Night Feast<\/em>‘ with Jamie Oliver, to star in its UK TV commercials on Channel 4 and the Good Food Channel. \u00a0Retail promotions will link to the campaign, which will focus on food and wine pairing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

* \u00a0 The City of \u00a0Cape Town is to improve the traffic flow in the Cape Town city centre,<\/strong><\/span><\/a> by resetting 111 sets of traffic lights. \u00a0More traffic lights at pedestrian crossings will also be installed, a R6,5 million project running over the next 8 months, to make the city well-run, pardon the pun! \u00a0The traffic light enhancement will benefit motorists, MyCiTi Bus commuters, and pedestrians (cyclists are not mentioned).<\/p>\n
