Recommendations play an important role when buying fresh fish, whilst convenience drives the choice of tinned and frozen fish type. The preparation style of seafood in restaurants, a described on menus, \u00a0influences patrons in their choice of fish.<\/p>\n<p>From the study it would appear that seafood shoppers would shift their choice to sustainable fish if informed in supermarkets, the expectation being that retailer should communicate with and educate their shoppers. \u00a0In-store posters play an important role in educating consumers in choosing green seafood varieties.<\/p>\n<p>However, awareness for SASSI has improved on the last two years. \u00a0\u00a0<span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Good news is the benefit of the SASSI communication<a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.whalecottage.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/SASSI-logo.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-62065\" alt=\"SASSI logo\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.whalecottage.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/SASSI-logo.jpg?resize=208%2C242\" width=\"208\" height=\"242\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a> campaign, according to the SASSI campaign manager Janine Basson: &#8216;<\/span><em>SASSI empowers people to get involved and help drive responsible fishing practices, from either a restaurant or the comfort of their own homes, Ordinary people create extraordinary changes, and we have seen some amazing changes driven by concerned consumers.
