* \u00a0 \u00a0Cape Town harbour does not appear to be able to cope with the influx of tourists coming off cruise ships<\/strong><\/span><\/a>. \u00a0Earlier this week about 2000 passengers on the MSC Opera were stuck on board as there were only four customs officials to deal with the passengers who wanted to go on land to explore Cape Town, and those that wanted to board for the next leg of the cruise. \u00a0Provincial Minister of Tourism Alan Winde described the incident as a ‘major setback for cruise ship tourism in the city<\/em>‘. \u00a0The departure time of the ship was delayed by two hours.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 The price of petrol is expected to drop by at least 40 cents per liter<\/strong> <\/span><\/a>and the price of diesel by about 56 cents per liter next Wednesday, predicts the Automobile Association. \u00a0Another petrol price decrease can be expected in December.<\/span><\/p>\n

* \u00a0 The Department of Transport is attempting to prevent Emirates from adding a fourth daily flight<\/strong><\/span><\/a> between Johannesburg and Dubai, even though the additional flight was approved between our government and that of the United Arab Emirates. The Department fears that Emirates is effecting the market share of SAA. \u00a0Emirates won an urgent interdict to allow the 4th daily flight to be allowed, which the Department is intending to contest in court.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 Cape Town City centre residents would like more restaurants in the CBD,<\/strong><\/span><\/a> shops that stay open for longer, and more delis, a survey conducted by the Cape Town Central City Improvement District (CCID) has shown. \u00a0About 5000 residents live in the CBD, and they are environmentally conscious, and enjoy green spaces in the city. The city centre has 230 ‘eateries’<\/em>, including restaurants, coffee shops, food trucks, and take-away food outlets. \u00a0City residents enjoy living close to work, and to having entertainment on their doorstep.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 Willow Creek Olive Estate has won the largest number of accolades for its extra virgin olive oils in this 2014 season, the 20 awards this year being the largest number ever received. Awards include the top olive oil in the Medium category in Sol D’Oro in Chile for the Directors’ Reserve. The Estate Blend was judged to be best in the Medium category at the L’Orciolo D’Oro competition in Italy, won 0ne of the ABSA Top 5 Awards 2014, and received a gold award at the SA Olive Awards. * \u00a0 A <\/span>Garagist\u00e9 Movement<\/a>,<\/strong><\/span> consisting of 20 garagist\u00e9 wine producers, has been formed, under the leadership of Tanja Beutler.<\/span><\/p>\n
