* \u00a0SAA Chairman Dudu Myeni has refused to follow Public Enterprises Minister Lynne Brown’s instruction<\/strong> <\/span><\/a>that its CEO Monwabisi Kalawe be reinstated, after having been fired last week! \u00a0Technically the Minister is not allowed to interfere with Board matters, but Minister Brown has intimated that anyone not co-operating to create stability at SAA will be fired.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 Corn\u00e9 Koch has been appointed as Head of the Wesgro’s Convention Bureau<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, having previously worked in promoting Gauteng, and the Advertising Standards Authority.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0The Cape Winemakers Guild has partnered with Wine Training South Africa, to assist in cellar staff training, which will run in conjunction with its current Prot\u00e9g\u00e9 Programme and viticulture mentorship initiative. \u00a0 A national qualification for cellar staff is to be developed.\u00a0 The training program was initiated by Elsenburg Cellar Technology students a number of years ago, and includes participation for ten students annually in the Burgundy Exchange Programme. * \u00a0 A new Breedekloof Wine Valley ‘Art in the heart of Breedekloof: A Wine, Art and Cultural Experience’<\/em> has been launched, cellars on the wine route reflecting the heritage and culture of the local community. \u00a0The Slanghoek Gallery offers tactile art for blind persons, for example.
