* \u00a0 Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba is not backing down on his Immigration Regulations, he told the Western Cape Parliament standing committee on Economic Development and Tourism yesterday, adding that it is now a law which cannot be unsigned by the President! He said he has not seen any ‘new facts’<\/em> regarding the regulations<\/strong><\/span><\/a>! \u00a0Gigaba had to be summonsed to appear before the committee hearing, having refused to do so when requested. \u00a0The province is concerned about the impact of the Immigration Regulations on tourism. \u00a0 The DA’s tourism spokesperson James Vos said: ‘Tourist arrivals from fellow Brics countries in particular have been hit extremely hard. Reports suggest that new tourist arrivals from China and India are down by 80 to 90 percent since October’<\/em>.<\/p>\n
