\"MCC<\/a>One of Franschhoek’s most popular festivals take place this weekend , on Saturday and Sunday 29 and 30 November, ending off a year of festivals which Franschhoek is so good at organising. \u00a0The MasterCard Franschhoek ‘Magic of Bubbles’<\/em> Cap Classique Champagne Festival is a mouthful of a title, but the 22\u00a0M\u00e9thode Cap Classiques (MCCs) and champagnes make the pilgrimage to Franschhoek worth while.<\/p>\n

Taking place in a marquee close to the Huguenot Monument, top South African MCCs and imported champagnes are available to taste. \u00a0Bubbly brands available to taste are\u00a0Pierre Jourdan, Morena, M\u00f4reson, La Motte, Boschendal, Leopard\u2019s Leap, Noble Hill, Plaisir de Merle, Anthonij Rupert Wines, JC le Roux, Krone, Pongracz, Steenberg, Villiera, Graham Beck Wines,\u00a0Simonsig,\u00a0Laborie,\u00a0Colmant, and\u00a0Domaine Des Dieux. Champagnes available for tasting are Piper Heidsieck, Champagne Guy Charbaut, and Veuve Clicquot.<\/p>\n

Paired with the MCCs and champagnes at the Festival are Franschhoek restaurants Bread & Wine, The Salmon Bar, Haute Cabri\u00e8re, Le Franschhoek, L’Ermitage, The Restaurant at Grande Provence, and Mont Rochelle.<\/p>\n

The dress code is black and white, and this year Parasols and Panamas hats have been added to the theme. The best-dressed couple will be rewarded with a prize. \u00a0Tickets for Saturday have already been sold out. \u00a0Ubr is vilbl to transport bubbly fans back to Cap Town, with a special R200 off for first-time users.<\/p>\n
