\"Lions<\/a>The Sweet Service Award<\/strong> goes to the 130 Cape Town Fire Department firefighters and the Volunteer Wildfire Services, which were instrumental in combating the fire on Lion’s Head and Signal Hill on Tuesday,<\/strong> <\/span><\/a>and from spreading to the houses of De Wet Road in Bantry Bay, despite an unusually strong South-Easter. \u00a0Fighting subsequent fires this week, fanned by the South Easter, in Kommetjie and other areas of Cape Town, is also commended.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"Celtic<\/a>The Sour Service Award<\/strong> goes to the recently opened Celtic Cove (previously Rocca) in the Cape Quarter, for its staff blocking walkways to other shops, including my favourite jewellery design and repair outlet freeRange, which is adjacent to the restaurant. \u00a0A male staff member was hanging over the escalator as I came up, and touted the restaurant. I then had to ask the waitress to make space for me to get past, and she gave me a rude reply. It appears that the restaurant has so little business that it has to be so aggressive in its ‘marketing’! \u00a0The Centre management confirmed that they have had to address this with Celtic Cove too.<\/p>\n
