\"Pick<\/a>The Sweet Service Award<\/strong> goes to Pick ‘n Pay Gardens Centre and its staff member Annie Hendricks. \u00a0Annie has been praised on numerous occasions on this Blog for her wonderful service in packing our weekly grocery order and delivering it to our guest house. \u00a0Before my trip I sent her an sms to notify her that I had sent her an order. \u00a0She replied that she was ill, and that her colleague who does the orders when she is off had been moved to another branch. \u00a0As it was a busy weekend, we could not do without the order. \u00a0Annie smsd that she would get someone else to do the order for us. \u00a0When Pick ‘n Pay arrived, there was Annie, who had got out of her sickbed to assist ourselves and two other clients with their orders, offering service beyond the call of duty.<\/p>\n

\"Col'Cacchio<\/a><\/p>\n

The Sour Service Award<\/strong> goes to Col’Cacchio Hermanus and its owner Angela Clifford. \u00a0 Stopping for pizza at about 18h30, I was served outside by a trainee waiter after a ten minute wait – there were no other customers inside, and one other table outside. \u00a0I asked for the manager, and Fortune presented himself, saying that he was in charge until Clifford returned to the restaurant, guessing it at about 20h30. \u00a0The pizza base was extremely thin, and burnt at the edges, the worst Col’Cacchio pizza I have tasted. Fortune never came back to my table. I had to go inside to request a bill, and was told verbally that it was R80, without receiving a printed bill? \u00a0Fortune started helping a lady fetching her take-away pizzas, which annoyed me, as he had not given me my change, not having any on him. \u00a0Four kitchen staff had nothing better to do than to come out of the kitchen, and to laugh at Fortune struggling to deal with me and the take-away pizza lady. \u00a0When I threatened to photograph them (Fortune had no control over them clearly), they ran back to the kitchen. \u00a0I called the restaurant at 21h00, and Clifford did the rude British number, interrupting me while I spoke, not apologising for the shambles she had left her restaurant in, and saying repeatedly that she deserves a break to be with her children, being in the restaurant 20 hours a day, a complete exaggeration, as the restaurant only opens at 11h30, and closes at 22h00!<\/p>\n
